Big Shout Out to Maria and the team over at U-Haul Archer Heights for providing the best customer service I have ever experienced. Had reserved a truck that got pushed to another location and all the equipment I rented was not provided. Traveled over to the Archer Heights location to get everything I ordered, and the system was trying to charge me $200! Online I had paid roughly $50, I was sick to my stomach bro. The team there got Maria on the line and she got me right, and I paid the proper price that I paid online. All this to say that this is a team that cares and is willing to help their customers out. Not something that is common practice and is always appreciated when it happens.
Thank you Maria and team for setting me up for the ride. Much appreciated

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. DO NOT RENT A MOVING VEHICLE FROM THESE PEOPLE. Not a van, not a truck, nothing. Upon renting a 26ft u-haul truck the check engine light was on. I went back into the office and informed them of this problem, a call was made to a manager, the manager and front desk clerk said the truck was inspected and fine to drive. On a 318 mile move, we made it about 70 or so miles until four more sensors on the dash started appearing, and the check engine light flashing. And then an emergency code started flashing. We have now been stranded in the middle of nowhere for 24 hours, relying on U-Haul’s poor to down right unusable roadside assistance. Bottom line, these people at this location do not inspect vehicles before rental reservations (this was confirmed by U-Hauls roadside mechanic, our vehicle had not been checked out, had its oil changed, nothing, in quite some time) so essentially you’ll be loading all of your belongings or whatever you need to move into a trailer that has a questionable vehicle towing all of it. You might make it, there’s a high likely hood that you will not. Absolutely terrible experience. We’re pursuing legal action against this U-Haul franchise with U-Haul corporate for liability. AVOID AT ALL COSTS, you’re seriously better off driving further to a different location, perhaps in Indiana or Wisconsin. This place SCREAMS corrupt/janky Illinois, as in, they just want their money and a lot of it, and what you get for your money is a vehicle that you basically have to diagnose yourself. I was even told by the front desk clerk that the afternoon maintenance people “don’t really do their job right.” That’s like boarding a plane and the flight attendant saying that the pilot isn’t very good at flying a plane.

Outstanding UHaul location; I go 20 minutes out of my way from the terrible ones closer to me. Bryan, Luna, Alesia, Maria, Wendy, Tyler, and Alecia (apologies for any misspellings; I didn't even remember Bryan's name the second time due, I would "say" mainly, to cognitive load) were tremendously warm, welcoming, kind, helpful, and understanding. If you're going to go to a UHaul anywhere near here, pick this one.

Terrible experience. Got to uhaul 7am. Did not get truck til 10am despite having reservations...Called customer service and they did not resolve my problem. I was transfered twice. The 3rd time I was transfered was not to a direct person and then the call ended on me. The problem is: a staff member at gage park told me we can come at 7am however they don't open til 9 which of course i didn'tfind out until 7am! Customer support was unable to find an alternative location that was open and did not provide me with any compensation for our inconvenience. 2 hours wasted on a moving day! This is not acceptable. To make mstters worse, i was told the original price cut that was offered to us yesterday to switch from the 26 to 20 ft truck (because apparently what we reserved is not available) does not even show in the system! Who is this incompetent staff member that called us and arranged all of this? This experience has been littered with so unprofessional people. The staff on the phone today did not even sound like they were listening to me..i would say something and there would be literally crickets on the other end for 5 mins.everything has been totally unacceptable. Making matters even worse, we were told we were not at the right location for the reservation even tho that IS where we reserved it. How did they switch our location without our approval? Why would they make me drive further (at least communicate with me and see if my start or end location is near the uhaul location being selected). How did those 2 CSR not tell me that on the morning of when I said "hi im calling about our gage park uhaul reservation"? Why did I have to go in person to find this out? And then they sent me to another wrong location before finally driving out of our way to the third uhaul location which had our reservation. But of course this was a Sunday so ni manager available to speak with about all of this. If a Helen from transport ever calls you promising anything, don't believe her!- very unhappy customers

Staff is very friendly & professional. Rental trucks are clean & maintained as they should be. Checking in & out of your reservation is done quickly.
