They keep this place clean and the elevator works well. Very sturdy. They never seem to have enough toilet paper, but I understand.

Customer service is trash. Our unit was having issues with the door. A girl came to the office around 3pm. She saw me knock on the door. Moments later when I go back to my car, she runs outside and hops in her car. I waved at her for a good 2min standing right at her car window. Was waving the entire time she backed up into me standing there and she still chose to drive off. Ngl I’m pretty surprised lol never had this kind of service. Why come to the office if you’re gonna dip like that? I stood right at her car window and she acted like she couldn’t see me. Craaaazyyyyy trash

I was 1 hour late for my charity event because there was no vehicle for my reservation. Even though my reservation was confirmed I had to wait over 20 minutes to speak with a customer service rep in order to get a truck. It took an hour to finally get a truck and I was late and our charity event was held up because of it. You “Price Guarantee” was also NOT honored. I was on time for my reservation and you did NOT have a vehicle ready. The customer service rep just told me the vehicle wasn’t available. I had to insists she fins me a new vehicle. Your policy states I get a $50 refund if you fail to meet time, place and equipment size. You didn’t;t have a truck available at the place I booked for the time I reserved, setting an entire charity event behind and your customer service rep said she couldn’t offer the Price Guarantee to me.
Even for drop off, the app wouldn’t save the pictures of the truck and I had to keep doing it. Almost 30 minutes just to drop it off. Absolutely not user friendly, slow customer service with a vehicle that needs maintenance because the engine was struggling to even accelerate to 15 miles per hour. I WILL NOT be using this location again.

Professional & helpful staff. Also own U-Haul of Jefferson Park. I currently rent trucks from here but my storage unit is at the Jefferson Park location.

A few years ago before COVID I was going to NEIU near here. I worked 2 jobs full time. I also did sex work and sold plasma. I could not afford an apartment. I paid and lived here in a unit and the security woman knew and just advised me to clean up and leave early without trouble. I think about her often. She helped me much more than she even knows. I graduated school with top honors, and today I'm living abroad and teaching, a big turn around. My mind often comes back here. My cat would wait outside for me to return from work/school too (rip Gizmo, who traveled with me and passed away last year at 13 y.o. I miss you so so much).
These storage units are a piece of my life forever. I'm not sure if it was fixed, but you used to be able to brute force open the doors after a certain time with card access.
5 stars for the security lady who helped save my life. In contrast, another different storage unit business nearby called the police on me and nearly upended my life.

The online reservation process was straightforward. Everything else was extremely poor and unacceptable. I had to go through the verification process twice because the app crashed twice. The app also crashed when I was trying to complete the return/check out procedure.
The actual verification process was the worst experience. Make sure you complete your online reservation in advance and call customer support immediately for them to complete the verification process. You are required to add a friend or family member in your profile and they are required to call them before you can do a truck rental. It’s an extremely burdensome process.
the verification process ended up taking more than 45 minutes which impacted my ability to complete my move timely.

I hate this self storage on Jefferson Park. Renters are supposed to have all day access and I can't even get in the building at 7am. And no employees are answering their phones?

Manager never available his employees are rude and will keep you on hold for hours and if you keep calling back they hangup. He runs the one foster and leclaire and they have bums living in that building he has done nothing to get rid of them.

Bathroom is out of order, well the one on the first floor is. Front door out of order. And the elevator was looking super suspect so i took the young stairs. A little difficult getting your stuff through a single door.When I'm late on my bill they're quick to Call and or throw a lock and ask for they're money but they can't run a functional facility. Whats really good over there UHUAL? We all should get the month of April or May 2023 for free. I'll wait UHUAL.

Don't using u haul for any of my rental needs moving forward. This Location is hit or miss. If it's a hit, things go simply as planned, if it is a miss, can fu** up your whole day and moving process (which is the case for me rn as the online truck reservation gives me a pointless error message that the phone rep is having a hard time troubleshooting after 30minutes). Rent elsewhere. Uhaul is complete trash

The van I rented was great. Even had a new car smell. Rear view camera in the rear view mirror. Their website access is buggy... Try using desktop site on your phone instead of mobile site if you get hung up.
