I had recently gone in to this location wanting to try a new foundation. Nicole the manager was extremely friendly and helped me find my shade && for my skin type. I felt bad asking for recommendations but Nicole was patient with me. The cashiers on staff were super friendly! This location was clean and organized too!

This is my favorite Ulta in Chicago- I have been coming here since 2012. Even though I moved to the suburbs I still come here to get my eyebrows waxed - I won’t trust anyone else. They listen to what I want and my brows always come out perfectly.
I visited recently and the manager Nicole was so helpful in my search for a skin care product I haven’t been able to find in other stores. I love the staff, and will continue to come to this location just to see them. I wish every location had this level of care and professionalism.

This is hands down the best ulta location. My kids get monthly haircuts here and Mindy is always so patient and fun. The store is clean, well stocked and the staff is very helpful.

I booked a make up lesson online at this Clybourn location. In the description it says, “Informative & interactive experience that helps you achieve your best look by providing industry tips & tricks for you to use at home.” And the time says up to 30 minutes.
Someone called me a few hours before to confirm and then said that this was a lesson for one feature such as eyeshadow. I told her I was looking just for somebody to show me how to apply eyeshadow and eyeliner correctly. She said well the service is actually only 15 minutes and if you don’t apply it correctly, the first time you likely won’t have time to fix it. I asked why is the service only 15 minutes it says 30 when you book? She said it’s 15 minutes and then we need 15 minutes to sanitize before the next guest. Confused on why I’m paying for them to sanitize for 15 minutes after I have to do all the make up myself?
She then proceeded to tell me that I needed to “wing the eyeliner myself correctly” and nobody’s going to do it for me and if I don’t “wing it correctly” the first time I’ll run out of time.
I just think this is false advertising and it’s disappointing because I was not looking for somebody to put on a full application of make up. I just wanted them to show me/guide me how to put it on. She acted like that was an inconvenience and that we wouldn’t have time to do that.
Ultimately Ulta lost my business as I would’ve likely bought an eyeliner and eyeshadow plus paid for the service. I was very put off by this phone call and will not be shopping there anymore. I will be taking my money elsewhere.

I got my eyebrows waxed with benefit brows yesterday (7/13) and was left with burns under my eyebrows. I had gone to this location a few years back and have been elsewhere for services on my eyebrows and have never been left like this. Ulta seems to be doing away with their benefit partnership and I’m not sure they had a brow specialist do them as normal. When I arrived, I went to the benefit section (where I had always previously gotten them done) and I was directed to the back of the store near the salon, where my eyebrows were done with my head in the bowl where they usually wash hair. After the procedure I was not provided with any sanitation or cooling gel and instead they were rubbed with what felt like a dry cloth which made them burn as well. After my appointment, one of my brows looked fine while the other looked botched and shortened by the end, however I still paid and tipped for the service as I hadn’t realized my under brow was burned. I would not be writing this review if i was just unhappy at the result. The rest of the day after the service my eyebrows and surrounding area were inflamed and caused excruciating pain at the slightest touch. Even washing my face and using a basic and clean moisturizer caused and is causing intense burning pain. I am not one to write a negative review but I need compensation or something for the pain I am enduring. Worst part, I got them done as I am leaving for vacation in 2 days! Please do not get your brows done here. Felt very unprofessional, shady, and has left me in severe pain. The looks I have been getting walking on the streets have been embarrassing as the two huge burns under my eyebrows look ridiculous.

I thought about talking to the manager but I’ve already talked to them once about this issue and nothing was done clearly. So now it’s a public review and hopefully all my people of color can show up at this specific Ulta since it seems management is extremely underhandedly and covertly racist. This is not the first time this has happened to me. I was followed around the store yet again. This time there were two other white people in the same general area as me but only I was greeted by a white employee with “are you finding everything ok?” I’m not stupid- I have worked in customer service before and alerting the customer to your presence is sometimes done if there are concerns that the customer is stealing or they “look” suspicious (code for they’re just a person of color). In this case it was evident that this is what was happening since the two other white customers very near me did not get a greeting like I did or even followed around the store like I did by tall white lady with red hair. This is the only ulta in the Chicago area that I have had this issue with. 2 years ago the security guard was following me around due to a white employee alerting him to my presence as if I could not hear her whispering to him. I brought it to the manager’s attention and she told me that was completely unacceptable and would talk to her employees. Guess it didn’t work or maybe this is the attitude of higher up management. Anyway why do you invest in loss prevention and security cameras if you’re not going to use them lmao if you think I am stealing solely based on my skin color, just look at the cameras. That’s what they are there for. I will continue to come to this store and if another incident like this happens again, I will be extremely vocal in front of all the customers.

I was trying to find a few base facial products and was having a hard time. Fortunately, Jackie patiently helped me find products that matched that were budget friendly with skincare in mind <3

I went in for a consultation and luckily Mindy said she could actually do me that day!!! I walked out looking and feeling so much nicer and I've had tons of compliments on my hair. A cute bob and some color and voila- new person!

Staff at this Ulta are probably some of the most helpful make-up store staff I have encountered in my almost 15 years of shopping at similar retailers! I came into this location after a disastrous experience receiving the wrong item from a department store for a Secret Santa gift. Staff quickly pointed me in the right direction and we found the perfect replacement!
