Just had the worst customer service of my life at this location. The person at the counter was being super rude people. I wish I ciuld tell her a couple things but i didnt want her to get extra rude while handling my mail. She was yelling at them when they do something wrong. Asked several times how long my the mail should take to arrive, first time she yelled at me that she had not got to that step then she simply ignored me at the end even though i was asking and looking stray into her eyes, then she proceeded yell at another customer. I counted, she yelled at 6 people while I was there waiting. She should really be fired.

Messy, unorganized, slow employees, and lost valuable packages. Showed up for help, waited an hour, and got nothing.

We had a terrible experience at this PO with a passport renewal. The post office would not honor open passport hours. We begged them to see us, since this was the 2nd location we visited that day for open hours. Then when we submitted the passport in person they didn’t notice that one of the forms was incorrect. Consequently the passport was not processed for over a month when we requested and needed expedited service! As a last straw they messed up delivery when the passport was completed and said the home address was not valid. I’m extremely frustrated with this post office. Do not go here!

do not drop your packages off here. They will never process your packages. I had to give 3 of my customers refunds because they never delivered their packages. The workers here are lazy and they don’t do their job.

I’ve been trying to contact this USPS branch for two weeks, calling multiple times a day, and no one has picked up. I called the national line and they sent a message to this branch to have them give me a call. I also talked with another USPS branch in my home state who also tried calling this branch and also sent them an email. Radio silence from this Chicago branch the entire time. Incredibly frustrating

They called me and I quote a "funny looking trout sniffer" when I asked if they sold tape.

Went here on 12/23 at 2:10 pm and the post office was closed. Government agencies should not close early. They are paid out of tax dollars.

I live in a very common Chicago style building with a simple intercom system so delivery personnel can call our cell directly to be allowed into the building to drop off the package. However, my packages are always left outside……. I live off a busy street with a lot of foot traffic so the packages are stolen within moments. I even posted the very simple instructions on how to use the dial pad to reach us, and yet the packages are still left outside right on the sidewalk. For being a postal service in a major city, you’d think the delivery folks would know not to leave packages outside.. it’s really disappointing, and it seems like there’s no accountability.

Can you believe the retail (live person staff help) hours you can have with this? This is the main post office in Chicago with amazing hours for those who need life help with packages or express mail or passport services. You can ask someone if you have everything ready for the renewal or first time passports and mail it from here. They say you should expect express passport service to be processed in 3-5 weeks so for regular passport service maybe 1-3 months ish. Plan in advance. It’s vast and nice and you have escalators to go up to the service floor. On the floor above parking which is free… which is a rare thing in downtown Chicago to begin with…There’s a self service mail box area for stamped and metered mail so you can drop off and go. The staff were friendly and nice and at 9:00am on a Tuesday it was not busy at all and I only had about a 10 min wait with 3 people ahead of me. I will come here whenever I need to do a late night run.

I’ve been contacting the post office and going to this location for over a week asking them to actually investigate my lost package. Check surveillance - ANYTHING. My 2023 MacBook Pro was stolen at the West Harrison Post office and USPS won’t do anything about it. Elsa Garcia (the clerk who took my package and asked what was in the box) told me I couldn’t insure the package. I suspect that she had something to do with the theft. The people that USPS employs is laughable. I will never mail anything of value through USPS again and I suggest you do the same. Unless you live in parts of the country where people are morally correct. Not Chicago, Illinois. I’m out of $3,000 but I will return back to work today and not continue to chase a package that I know was stolen at this location and receiving no help on locating from the USPS

Clerks are always so polite and helpful. I wish I could come more often. The best customer service experience.
