This was my first experience at Uvae and it was Easter Sunday with my friends from Winnetka. Our experience for food and service was amazing. We had a little bump in the road with service and Kate, the manager rectified it immediately. Her dedication to customer service and making sure we felt comfortable made a world of difference. I will patron this place again and again. Thanks for making our first experience an incredible one on a special day like Easter.Kid-friendliness: My friends son lived the French toast brioche.

My sister hosted her Baby shower here, in the private tasting room. It was an absolutely lovely experience. Katelyn and her staff greeted us the second we walked in and helped bring our vision to life for a Harry Potter themed party. The staff was very attentive and and went above and beyond in service, anticipating our needs. Created a mocktail that fit the theme of our event and were an absolute pleasure to with it! The food was delicious and they were able to accommodate our dietary restrictions. Highly recommend this place and can't wait to come again!

My partner took me here for my birthday a couple of months ago. I still cannot get that meal out of my mind. I ordered the airline chicken breast, and it was the most delicious meal I've had in recent memory. The parsnip puree was slightly sweet and lemony, and the chicken was very tender (I can't quite remember how it was seasoned). I haven't had anything with that flavor profile before. I can't wait to go back to explore the menu more. Oh, and the atmosphere is cute too :)

I visited during North Side Restaurant Week and opted for the 4-course meal. The salad, squash soup, short ribs with truffle risotto, and cheesecake were all flavorful and well-prepared. However, the food portions were on the smaller side, and some of us ended up feeling a bit hungry even after the four courses.While the food tasted great, we were quite disappointed with the service. Our waiter came off as a bit condescending and didn't create the most welcoming atmosphere for our group. At one point he even pulled a napkin from under my elbow, which almost caused me to hit the table. Uvae could take a couple notes on good customer service.While the dishes were a hit, the overall experience was affected by the service and portion sizes. Hopefully, they can work on these aspects for a more well-rounded dining experience.

Came here with the hwife, for my birthday. Food was delicious, the happy hour oysters/shrimp/sparkling wine are a great deal. Contrary to other reviews, we spent 50/person and were quite full, and thats with drinks.

In Chicago we suffer an embarrassment of culinary riches and I’ve enjoyed many a fine meal here, but after four years in the windy city at Uvae, I may have just had my best meal yet.The February Wine Dinner was the best four-course Prix Fixe I've ever had -- period, full-stop. While the food and wine were excellent on their own, pairings were harmonious making the total more than the sum of its parts.Our server Erika was funny, engaging, professional, knowledgeable, and attentive. Her descriptions were spot on and she really contributed to our experience. What more could a diner ask for? Manager Cate was gracious and warm as well.The portions were generous and beautifully presented without being overly ambitious. The service was warm and professional and the ambiance just right. The talent and passion from every single person in the kitchen shone through on every plate and with every bite. I can not sing the praises of Uvae highly enough and wish the restaurant and all the talent that resides within every success. What a not so hidden gem in Andersonville this is. May it shine for many years to come.

Artistic yet delicious …the best of plates were beet salad and blood orange paired perfectly with a blanc de noir. Then the sous vide beef tenderloin was incredible and a tempranillo.Uvae’s owner was complemented by staff, and they dished up quite the experience. Bravo!

Strictly reviewing on experience for happy hour oysters. We grabbed seats at the bar, put in an order for two dozen oysters. It was taking quite a bit, the bartender checked in to say that they were shucking oysters by hand tonight so it was taking longer. Left us pretty confused as to how the oysters are prepared on other nights, if not by hand?First batch came out with 10 oysters, where we received another apology for the delay as they were shucking by order tonight. Once again a bit puzzled.Overall oysters were pretty tasty, but process took a while and presentation itself was a bit messy. Ice in the first tray with the ten oysters was a melted mess. Second larger batch came out in a smaller tray, so oysters were overcrowded and a little hard to navigate through.Would love to stop by again and try their dinner menu, and everyone was very friendly. However, the oyster experience was extremely underwhelming.

The small plates are always great. The staff if very knowledgeable and the wine tastings are educational and fun.Edit 2024- Still great. Always tasty, friendly knowledgeable staff and cool atmosphere. We love this place.
