Every time I go into this place something goes wrong with my car unrelated to why I brought it in. There was a recall on trim. Now my tire sensors are reporting an error. I had work done on my engine and the battery dies. I replace the battery and the battery cover goes missing. The turbo went out at tried to tell me that the extra warranty had expired. It had not. Buy from somewhere else and get your repairs anywhere else. Update I stopped in after being told to come in by the GM. He said he made record of my concerns but when I went in to have them addressed there was no record of my concerns. Only that I had an oil change due. Ugh. Update The service manager has not returned my calls. I brought my car in the engine was making a knocking sound. They said the turbo needed to be replaced. The supposedly did the work and the engine still knocked. They said I the engine needed to be replaced and that I would be roughly $12,000 but even though my warranty was ran out, although it is not, they were going to help me to the tune of $6000. I have gone to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) as they are still not honoring their warranty .

Worked with Fredd on 2 separate occasions at the downtown location and it was the best experience. He took his time & gave me options of used and new cars and even explained the difference of warranty ect. I purchased tiguan sport & Will be returning of ever needed . Thank you Fred

My engine issues started at Volkswagen of Downtown Chicago after an oilChange. After a year of time consuming back and forth drop offs because of the engine issue they finally detected i needed a new engine. They have since replaced my engine and provided me with a loaner vehicle until my car was ready. They were able to get the work done in 1 week and im currently still monitoring the engine since i just got my car back on 3/2/24, so far so good. The customer service is on point, the business is neat and clean. They get you right and take care of business as best as they can with the high demand they have. Im pleased with VW of downtown Chicago customer service but im completely dissatisfied with my vehicle purchase in which i originally purchased from Volkswagen of Orland Park. I dont ever plan to purchase another Volkswagen ever again but if i should have a change of mind i will definitely purchase from VW of Downtown Chicago. Volkswagen of Orland park sold me a brand new Lemon with software issues that causes my back up camera and radio system to randomly goOut to shortly after eventually having engine problems and VW of downtown has been helping to clean up the mess that Volkswagen of Orland Park sold me ever since. If you’re going take the chance of purchasing VW do your research, test drive your car, check everything on the car to ensure it works to your satisfaction but give VW of Downtown the opportunity to work with you. I do recommend VW of Downtown Chicago.

I live 600 miles away but found a great deal on a hard-to-find used vehicle here. They handled the deal by phone, made it pretty painless, let my friend in town test drive it for me, and I drove back a few days later in my dream car. Good experience.

Was quoted $3k for additional services than an independent shop said I didn’t need. Paid $600 for front brake job and was quoted over $800 at this dealership. Also said I needed new battery ($510) and was quoted $210 by the independent dealer (turns out the battery is fine). They’re also recommending I go back to another dealer since the oil pan gasket is leaking, which they didn’t bring to my attention (I’m guessing since it’s covered under warranty). Last time I got service done here was for an oil change and ended up getting upsold on a preventative service package for $450+. I’ll probably just end up going out to independent auto shops for most of these services. Any potential warranty related issues I’ll have addressed at Jennings VW in Glenview.GTI 25k miles
