Canceling was a nightmare. I went to the desk in person 3 month ago and was told they couldn't help me cancel. My Month to month Contract said 1 month notice by letter or manager on site to cancel. At front desk they gave me a business card and asked me to call it which is upside terms of contract. I was put on hold for quite a while and eventually. I was billed two more months without going at all then spoke to my bank who put a stop payment in. WLAC demanded payment for another month. I made it clear i hadnt used gym in two months and in no way shape or form wanted to pay for another month i hadnt used gym a single time in last 2-3 mon$80 + $20 late fee and said If I didn't pay they would Continue to bill me and then send me to collections. It was Ben Easington I worked with. He said it was immaterial that I hadn't been at the gym in 3 months. Ben Easington intentionally obfuscated the cancelation process and lied about contract terms i.e. that I couldn't cancel via someone physically at the club while I am there. Nightmare. I recommend Midtown or Equinox instead. This was a month to month Contract you would think would be easy to cancel.

Best gym ever! I am so glad that I got my membership one year ago. This location is my favorite. They have the best instructors, great studios for yoga, body lifting and cardio. The schedule is very convenient. The bodypump and the GRIT classes helped me to lose weight and get into a better fit. The yoga classes help me manage my anxiety and flexibility. I am a regular gym goer. Very close to my home. Clean locker rooms and studios. Good air conditioning compared to other locations. At one point there were issues with the lockers and a lot of the lockers didn't have a working lock but I think that this should've been resolved already. I am happy to he a member!

Super convenient location on Division. There are a lot of machines, and a few newly added, but the problem is the brands they buy cater to those of average male built. I am a petite female and constantly needed to add things to the machine make it usable. In the end I decided it's not worth it as it sacrificed my range of motion or form. The hack squat machine was so wide that it sat on my clavicle and bruised it. Aside from that, newer lat pull-down attachments are needed, ideally the ones with rock climbing-like grips. Sent them an email with feedback but they never responded. On a plus note they added more squat racks last year. Also happy to report that I had no issues with cancelling my membership. TLDR: machines are good for someone of an average male built. Not petite friendly.

Gym would be great if they would listen to what everyone is saying, which is to increase their open hours. Got kicked out at 7pm sharp toward the end of my workout. 7pm is so early for a gym to close, its just weird. There’s also a strangely low amount of weight plates available.

I like the quality of their equipment, you can tell it's good quality. The Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday yoga classes are AMAZING! I like the towels, music, spray bottles of sanitizer, and staff. I think this is the best gym in the area.

Mediocre at best. It's a "cute" gym and there is a decent amount of cardio equipment, which gives it the first star; the second is because I could walk there when the weather permits. But there really isn't a great amount of machines both in variety and quantity for example I think there is one leg press for the whole gym. Also the turf area gets so over crowded especially when there are classes, when there are not it's easy to use class rooms for your own workouts. Classes themselves don't have a lot of options/times and one of the nicer staff members kind of suggested some of the yoga isn't that great when I mentioned wanting to try it out. The staff overall is so hit or miss. Some say hi and bye and some barely acknowledge you and seem standoffish. I had an issue when I got rear ended and was not able to work out for two weeks. And after I got the okay from my doctor and pt to begin walking on the treadmill I asked if we could extend my membership two weeks( I paid a year in full). I had the letters from my doctor documentation of the accident and they literally tried to tell me I could pay freeze my membership. So basically they would like to make more money off me instead of just doing the easy/right thing and extending my membership for two weeks since I clearly was not able to come due to injury. The interaction was just not good customer service and I asked to be followed up with a manager that never happened. The parking is very small and people park over the lines like dummies constantly and take up two spaces The pricing is not great it's definitely way overpriced for what they offer. To be honest the XSport in Lincoln park is much nicer and has more equipment as well as things like sauna and hydro bed etc included in the membership price which is more affordable and the staff is always friendly and there is an abundance of parking.

Poorly run business and bad customer service. Poor cancelation policy, they will try to squeeze out as much money from you and make it hard for you to cancel. I had a bad experience as well as a friend who was sent to collections with zero outreach or notifications from the club. I never got my referral bonus and after multiple follow ups they kept telling me they couldn't help because the bonus was supposed to come from a third party (???). Facility is also small and machines fill up fast. Would not recommend !

If you like paying what amounts to an exit fee when you try to cancel, this is the gym for you! Read the comments about CACs cancellation policy, then save yourself some headache and go find another gym.

They won't give you a rate unless they lock you into a room and try to heavy- sell ya.Can't get a workout in without trainers bothering you.Yawn, usual gym nonsense. I signed up with a free rate and then they gave me a discounted one after that that jumped up shortly after that.Predatory pricing, and impossible to cancel.Ended up going down the street to Wicker Park Fitness, much better people, pricing, gym.

Closes as early as 7pm, even though longer hours are posted outside. Decent space but nothing special. They tried to charge me a $25 "late fee" when I changed credit cards and customer service was terrible when I called to dispute it.

Sales managers screw you - Choose a YMCA over these scammers.Like some others have already stated, cancelation and contract policy is scam-like at best, predatory and forceful at worst.Although there are options that help you pay at your own pace and keep you safe from their predatory "12 month contract" they don't tell you about them until its too late and you've already sold your soul to them through the convenience of a point of sale system when you sign up.Even when you are given "grace" with their "freeze" policy - they still charge you up the *ss if you don't cancel in time, of course, no one notifies you to do so on time. They do not care if you can't pay, they will send you to collections and lawyer up according to their VERY predatory contract which they do not disclose to you when you sign up.Read the fine print, or be charged thousands of dollars "with" your coerced consent -_-I feel bad for all the people I've had to repeatedly call and email for the past two months....

Member Beware: Very shady cancellation practices. SO tried cancelling 30 days in advance - charged. Then 30 days later (60 days if total of notification) tried cancelling - they said everything was good - still charged. Was told to cancel credit card just to make them stop charging. Horrible practices.

Shady billing practices. I was under the impression I cancelled my membership. I did not receive any charges to my bank account, no bills mailed to my address, and no other form of communication regarding my membership. After 6 months of no contact, they sent me a bill for for services they did not provide me and sent me to collections. They refused to work with me to resolve the issue and would not respond to my emails. As a full time nursing student, the amount they are charging me is half my monthly income. Overall, this is a very unprofessional business and would never recommend this gym to anyone.

Scam cancellation policy“30 days” notice doesn’t mean you could end up paying an extra 30 days. You can end up paying and extra 60 days because even when you cancel, they’re going to charge you *AGAIN* your next billing for a future month
