OMG. I stopped in on Friday afternoon to get a couple large bills to give as gifts. They didn't have any. Seriously?? If a bank doesn't have them...never mind. Then I wanted to talk with a banker to update my online profile. There was only one banker working, and he was taking his sweet time taking care of a customer. I thought he was going to teach her how to square dance, that's about the only topic they didn't discuss. Then another banker appears, and decides to help someone there without asking who was next (ME). I waited, by this time there were 4 other people waiting to talk to a banker. Once again, taking her sweet time, discussing the weather and her grandmothers pancake recipe. Absolutely no sense of urgency, even with a crowd waiting. I don't know where they found these bankers. I'm going to be closing my account, I've never seen such unprofessional behavior. The bank should be embarrassed.

I am a long time Wintrust client both personally and with my business account. I sincerely enjoy the staff and service I have received when visiting the North Avenue Branch.

BEWARE when opening a new account. Their standard policy means they may hold ALL your money without warning for 1/2 a month. I opened my account on a Saturday with a normal check. I deposited several thousand dollars into my account. They put their standard security hold of 10 business days on these funds. However, since I opened Saturday morning and there was a federal holiday during the 10 day period, that means I would have to wait 10 business days plus 6 days (3 weekends) plus 1 Federal holiday or 17 days before they would release any funds. So I deposited several thousand dollars, but I couldn't touch a penny of these funds until 17 days later as they didn't make ANY of it available. I'm glad I didn't start switching over my direct deposits. I'm lucky I didn't need access to the money over that time. I was planning on moving all my banking over to wintrust, but instead I moved none of it. Customer beware!

Pesonal bankers are awesome but the tellers are very discerning. They have no customer service skills. Not helpful. I'll go back to LaSalle branch.
