Woolly Mammoth in Uptown Chicago is a chilling foray into the macabre, crowded with eerie taxidermy, bones, and skulls. Its overwhelmingly gothic ambiance made my brief visit with friends quite unsettling. While it's a trove for those who fancy the peculiar, its intense, somber atmosphere felt too oppressive and unnerving for our taste. A unique spot for sure, but its spine-chilling vibe and morbid collection were not what we expected, making it a disconcerting experience.

Dark and mysterious! Slammed to the gills with inventory! When you go Inside you might feel like you’re overwhelmed due to the mass of Inventory available!!!! STOP…. Take a deep breath and focus in one spot lol! There ya go…. NOPE!!!! STOP IT!!! Don’t look around!!! Stay focused lol!!! I personally made like 20 laps around this amazing store! The staff wasn’t shy for small talk! I just love this store! GO NOW!!

Great experience. Picked up a couple super cool relics that were so wonderfully preserved. Adam is a gem and everything you’d want in a store owner and was kind enough to hold a piece we purchased for a month during travel. Say hello to their two pooches next to the counter!

Bought a specimen from here for $80, afterwards saw the same exact one on Amazon for $25. I probably should of known better. The place is cool but be careful. You may be getting scammed

Really cool place, definitely legit for the sheer quantity of odd and bizarre items. Lots of amazing things in a tiny space. Not necessarily the most accessible given how much they have crammed in the space, but its kind of to be expected. The one thing I will say is stuff in here is PRICEY. If you're a tourist looking to pickup something cool to bring home, expect to pay a LOT for most things. I will admit that did discourage us from buying anything, but it is a cool spot even just to see what's there.

It was cool to visit but I don’t think I’ll be back next time I’m around. Every piece I wanted was not for sale and even the shirts were advertised as offering a plethora of sizes but apparently big and tall guy sizes were nowhere to be found so I settled on a sticker and magnet as a memento of seeing a Gacy painting and a Lizzie Borden tin type up close. It feels more like a “come look at my stuff” than an actual store so bear that in mind when going.

Very cool and unique shop filled with a lot of stuff you will not see anywhere else! The owner was cool as hell! Definitely would come back!

Amazing!! A bit cramped but other than that, it's an awesome store! Highly recommend for lovers of the weird and the wacky!
