Bobby rebuilt my transmission. 3000 miles later the transmission starts slipping. I take it back to Bobby and tell him what’s going on. After explaining everything he told me he wouldn’t warranty it. I asked him why he wouldn’t warranty it and he said because I wanted to go cheap just to get it going. He
said he never replaced the torque converter. I remember Bobby asking me if I wanted heavy duty clutches and I said yes so I don’t know where he got “just get it going”.
I told him I would take the transmission elsewhere after that. The next place I took the transmission we’re not impressed when they opened the case. $2,xxx wasted time and money on Bobby. Do not waste your time or money please.

Couldn't be happier with my experience here, Bob is very knowledgeable and very professional when it comes to his work, I took in my 2004 Pontiac GTO to have the T-56 rebuilt, along with a new clutch and short throw shifter and adjustable clutch master cylinder etc.. took a little longer than I anticipated but that was due to the search for a new first gear, thanks to Bob and his dedication to find someone with the right gear in stock I am back on the road ! These guys are top notch. I dropped my driveshaft while on the power tour this year in St. Louis. I had it hauled to them that evening 140 miles. Bob and his father had me on the road early the next morning and back on the tour. They went far above and beyond considering I had never done business with them prior to this. His pricing was beyond fair and quality of work was phenomenal. You can obviously tell by the quality of materials and projects in his shop that they are reputable. You only pay for quality once. I will be hauling my car 9 hours to him to have him complete some custom driveline work for me over the fall. I will be passing through many other large cities and very reputable shops. If you need a transmission, this is the place to go. I shopped around and 90% of the people I asked said Performance in Clinton. I was not disappointed! So much so they have had my business twice now. Because they are a small business and transmissions take more than a day to build and install, my advice to you is "Do Not Be in a Hurry." They have a wait but its worth it when the job is performed correctly! You will not regret taking your vehicle here for transmission service.

I’ve never left a review before but my experience with this business was so bad I felt like I had to. I have always heard very negative/mixed reviews about this business but had a very simple problem and thought that I would give them a try. We set an appointment a month from the original call date to make sure that he was finished up with previous projects and could get to mine immediately so it did not have to sit outside. I had my car in the lot a day before the scheduled appointment but did not hear anything for a week so I called back and they did not answer I called many times that day with no answer. I then called the following day which they answered on the third attempt (all calls were made during normal business hours) they told me they got behind and will get to my vehicle in the next few days. I then waited another week and went through the exact same experience of dodging calls and endless excuses until after the third week they finally pulled my vehicle in. They took a look at it for 3 days and then gave me their opinion of what was wrong. I have always worked on my own transmissions and I knew what they were saying was entirely false and they were looking to make a quick dollar. I got my vehicle out of there and would never go back under any circumstances. Unless you want to get an overall run around, get overcharged, and make your vehicle a parking lot ornament in the middle of Clinton I would not call this business.Service: Transmission

Owner and son both represented themselves and the business as rude, paranoid, and just overall completely unprofessional. If you need a transmission go to a shop that will swap out transmission with a reputable company that carries a REAL warranty. Trust me you do not want these guys rebuilding your transmission.Service: Transmission
