This place is horrible I got ripped off and taken advantage of. Any customer service or management is remote. Once you talk to someone they are rude and inconsiderate of situations, their employees cause. My storage locker is the wrong locker that they are charging me for and the rates for the locker went up. The last bill I had got was for $115 within two weeks. It went up to 470 just to be able to get into my locker And I didn’t get the free 30 days that supposed to me automatic when you rent a locker. I bought my locker $68.99 /m with no insurance because it was only clothes June 6th. didn’t move into it until June 9th. By September 9th I owed $470.00 my billing invoice August 31. Had a late fee $20.00 and insurance 16.00 for locker 1003 79.99. Mailed to me stating I owed $115.00 when I tried to pay it they told me I owed them . $470.00 if a month free came with buying the locker then why do I owe this amount. And now I lost everything in the locker. 1003 isn’t even the locker I paid for and out my own lock on. -Melisa Taylor 2025. Customer

Do NOT use the Red Dot Storage S. Morrison location in Collinsville IL.
Last year - unit next to our was set on fire. Out stuff was soaked and mostly ruined with the fire extinguishing. Our unit was a full 10x15 size. They offered to move us to a 5x8 unit . THEN made us pay for our own move and moved us to the other location in Collinsville (which is constructed and framed with 2x4s and drywall sheets to separate units.
now that we moved back to S Morrison , from Jan 3 - April 13th the security gate was "broken" and was left wide open for the duration. I myself contacted red dot 12 times within that time period with no results. Now there are people living in units unoccupied, several units weekly are broken into yes gate is fixed, but all 9 security cameras... Do not work. Several of us customers are moving down to MiniMax storage in Collinsville. Very secure all cameras working and no issues.

I went to my unit to find my lock gone and a facility lock on my unit (the red circular ones). I called the service number and was told that they had no notes showing that the facility had put their lock on my unit. I was told that the first availability for someone to come remove the lock was 4 days later. I requested an investigation and was told I would receive a call in 4 days. After the 4 days, there was no call. I called again and asked for a supervisor. They do not transfer you to a supervisor and instead take your number and call you back. I received a call back about 30 minutes later. At first, he said that the facility management had noticed that my lock was gone and placed the red lock to secure my unit. Then he said they did NOT place the red lock and the investigation was internal and I would not know the outcome. Then was told I should’ve called the police when I saw the lock was gone… He said the bottom line was my lock would not be replaced because I didn’t call the police and the investigation was none of my business.
This facility is obviously not secured and your things are not safe. Customer service will not help you.
Edit- the response below asks me to call. I called the number provided and was told that there is no notes in my account for me to call and she could not help me. Again, horrible customer service. If “Red dot owner” is truly interested in resolving my issue, my name is listed above and my phone number is on my account.

Worst place ever to get a storage unit!!!! Don’t do it!! If I could give zero stars I would!! And they give you the 800 or 855 number to call and that is useless it’s just customer services who say they can’t do nothing!!!

Stayed open the whole time. we opened it up and both sides of the storage unit damaged and unable to use. When calling for another unit she kept sending us to units already token. When we gave her one that was unlocked and open but had a a dead rat. That one didn’t work out because of the dead rat and in her system she said it was token. Also if you ask for a refund they will mail you a check instead of returning the money to your card…

everything with this place went just fine. it would be helpful if they could label where the units are located on te property. i had to drive around a bit trying to figure out where it was. no biggie, just took a bit of time

My unit was broken into at some point within the last 2 months, only found out today. Had a lot of stuff stolen and other things damaged. Main gate has been stuck open for 2 weeks now (from what police have said) and theres not enough cameras on the facility to monitor. Unit next to mine was unlocked and thiefs broke through the walls into mine and unit next to it (walls are sectioned pieces of fiberglass). No employees or managers on site. Was told just to file insurance claim and police report. Not recommended to store.*update: according to police and facility personnel, cameras havent worked for over 18 months with 22 thefts happening within the facility and the home office for Red Dot is aware of their faulty equipment but havent fixed them since. The home office has also been negligent in their regular duties and multiple personnel have been laid off for this issue but little to no resolve for any issues that have been addressed.

You have other options for storage--significantly cheaper ones, I might add. DO NOT choose Red Dot. You will regret it!We went there on Saturday to pick up things we needed on that day. When we got there, they had put one of their locks on our locker. We confirmed that the unit was paid in full (it was), and called the customer service number for help. The customer service rep confirmed there was no reason that they should have locked us out. She put us on hold to call the property manager. Came back and said the property manager couldn't come out until Wednesday. I told them that was unacceptable, so she put us on hold again for about 10 minutes. Obviously she reached somebody because she came back with a ridiculous story that absolved them of any wrongdoing. Apparently another unit who had had a lock put on it figured out how to get the lock off (so Red Dot gives out the keys/combinations to disgruntled patrons, apparently) and were too put out by the idea of dropping it off at the office (which they pass on their way off the property), and instead put it on our locker because "you'd be amazed at the things people will do" (customer service rep said that to us). So now they've decided it's not their problem, they don't need to fix it, and they don't care if we are inconvenienced. We requested compensation for our trouble and were told they would note that on our account. Guarantee that's not going to happen.

The units are a bit smaller than advertised and the gate has a sensor issue that takes far too long to get in and out of the premises.
