I’ve been doing my taxes here for several years. This year was the first year I was truly unhappy with how my taxes were handled. The price was $100 more and it took over a month to file my taxes. I know the last of the original owners had retired but I wasn’t expecting such dramatic changes in time, quality, price and consistency. I’m sorry to say I will be looking elsewhere for help with my taxes.

I had taken my documents into the office and dropped them off, this was the second year doing so. I recently sold a rental property so that was the only out of the normal return. I was called once during the prep to ask questions. I received the next call stating they were done. So I picked them up, went to my car and opened the envelope and saw I owed almost $15,000 in taxes. So I went back in and asked how this could be and they said it was due to the capital gains/depreciation on the rental home. So I took the same information to someone else. Fick and Eggemeyer made a $9,000 mistake and proceeded to blame the tax preparer I had prior to them. Their solution was they could amend the return but would have to charge me for that. They admitted to making the mistake after I verified the information was correct, but wanted me to pay them even more for them to fix their mistake. I was wanting to support local agencies but I’m just going to H&R Block.EDIT: Based on the response from Fick Eggmeyer & Williamson I feel I needed to respond as well. I have a certain expectation when I hear the word professional. I would have expected the "inaccuracy" to be caught by the tax preparer if there was indeed an "inaccuracy". Here are the facts, I left owing over $14,000 in taxes, I had another office do the amendment and I left owing around $4600. So call it what you will, our conversation went the way it did because the situation could have been handled a lot better than it was. You can pass blame to me as you have passed blame on others, but saying I made up a conversation that you weren't involved in initially, holds little weight with me. But again I'm "not a professional tax preparer just a guy off the street saying I'm paying too much in taxes". I appreciate you reaching out to attempt to make things better.

I had an awful experience at this place today. The two ladies working as Secretaries were rude. I said hello to them when I entered and neither one of them acknowledged me. I made an appointment to have my taxes prepared. After I sat there 15 minutes the one Secretary checked her computer and said that she couldn't find my appointment. I checked my phone and gave the lady the exact date and time I called to make the appointment. She finally found it and said that the appointment wasn't scheduled for today, but she would see if they could fit me in. I sat there another 10 minutes and the lady said they couldn't fit me in today, but I could leave my tax documents there or we could schedule a Zoom meeting. I declined and walked out. I had to leave work early for this. They have no respect for anybody's time. I guess the two ladies working as Secretaries are what I call COVID workers. Neither one of them acted like they had any experience with taxes or customer service. Don't waste your time getting your taxes prepared at this establishment.
