After working to obtain a HELOC with MCLCU, my home was appraised at a much lower value than expected and when I brought it up to the loan officer, Pam, she didn’t seem concerned and brushed it off. When we received our appraisal report, it became clear our square footage was documented at 15% less than our actual footage since we had an addition added recently. The appraiser didn’t take the time to actually measure our home, they just took pictures and used the footage they found online. There was no apology offered when I caught this oversight after we met for our closing and received our appraisal report (although I brought the concern up twice in the meeting). It seemed as if Pam was trying to convince me to take what we got even though we could borrow around $25K more. We decided to have the loan canceled since we’re within the 3 day period and I asked where to sign on the “right to cancel” form and was advised to sign in the box that would’ve BOUND me to the contract of the loan instead of cancelling it. I kept pressing Pam because I didn’t think that was the correct box to sign in, but she kept insisting it was. I ended up having to speak to Maureen (her fellow loan officer) to confirm where to sign because I was certain it was a different section. She corrected Pam’s instructions but I was so concerned that Pam was incorrectly advising me to sign a section that would’ve locked us into the loan we’re trying to get out of. When I challenged this error, Maureen started raising her voice and said “what would you like me to say” instead of addressing this professionally and easing my concerns. She issued an apology with a tone of annoyance and rudeness. Needless to say, we’re cancelling our loan and will look elsewhere for more thorough and professional service. As a lay person, I shouldn’t be the one catching appraisers and loan officers mistakes.

If I could give them no stars I would. They offered us a policy that was supposed to be cancelled over a year ago. They keptCharging our account til this day we haven’t been refunded. No call back they just say they processed the refund and nothing. They are the worst. It’s over $1000 that they owe us.

The receptionist is so rude! Been on hold for 21 minutes, and I hung up to call back to hear her say “we are on lunch from 11:45-2pm, I will put you back in que”…. And nobody works during that time? Rude!!!!
