I've been with Edward Jones for over 9yrs and my Financial Advisor Maria A Abney is an absolute angel. First off the Crete, IL office is welcoming and cozy atmosphere. I currently hold a IRA and Savings as well as obtaining my son an IRA and Savings. Maria has been very helpful with increasing my confidence to invest and save. She helps set realistic goals for both my son and I as well as tips on management. When I am making huge financial changes and/or decisions, for example purchasing a new car, moving, changing jobs, planning for vacation, etc. She was able to give relatable genuine advice so that I'm able to make a fully informed decision without feeling deprived. Maria is personable and experienced to give no-bias perspective. I feel proud, secure and privileged to say I have a financial advisor, especially when coming into large amounts of money. I met Maria while she was going door to door during a raging snowstorm to drum up new clients. I figured a woman dedicated enough to be out in such cold weather for her business, would also be an advisor dedicated to her clients. I signed up and she has been a God send ever since! First of all I want to thank you for your guidance and support during this year. I had always been apprehensive when it came to trusting anyone to invest my hard earned money( I am a senior, semi retired). I was referred to Edward Jones by a close friend who praised the company in general. After praying and reviewing several employees( via their website) I decided to schedule an appointment with Maria Abney and the rest is history, a GREAT ONE! After our “meet and greet” I felt comfortable trusting my finances under the supervision and guidance of Maria Abney. A few days shy of one year being with her my portfolio left me simply “giddy” with excitement and confirmed that I had indeed made the right decision. I am so very grateful that Maria is my financial advisor. Throughout this year Maria Abney communicated with me, addressed my fears, concerns and doubts. She explained the investments available, always included me in the decision making process and made comparisons and recommendations with each investment to assist me to make the practical decisions. HOWEVER, she never allowed me to make the “not so practical decisions “ by explaining the pros and cons( Maria Abney was ALWAYS educational). Due to my apprehensive mindset Maria was sagacious and on several occasions had her extremely delightful and competent secretary Ms Lisa call me on her behalf( both ladies complements each other). Because Maria Abney was proactive and anticipated my needs I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her services with complete trust. She has an INCREDIBLE secretary ( LisaKeene) who is professional and personal at the same time. Consequently, under the guidance of Maria my portfolio(POSITIVELY) speaks for itself! However, I do have one regret….I wish I had known about her years ago and can only dream of what my investments would look like now. However, Better late than never. THANK YOU MARIA ABNEY for being such an INCREDIBLE listener, empathizer, educator and great financial advisor. Sorry this was so long however, everytime I think or look at where I was financially a year ago vs now, I can’t help myself and most of all hope this honest review helps others.

Maria takes a thoughtful and consultative approach to working with me on my finances and retirement planning. She is highly resourceful, caring, disciplined and analytical to help figure out the best plan specifically just for me, and every one of her clients’ differing needs. I have worked with her almost 3 years now and my financial literacy and decision making have increased greatly. I feel empowered because I know I have realistic goals and achievable plans, as well as a ready-to-go emergency savings strategy for dealing with unexpected financial matters that might arise. I only wish I had started working with a pro Financial Advisor like Maria sooner, but I am so happy I finally got this start!
