I'm trying to support the local businesses but when everywhere else the propane refill is under 20 bucks here it's 22 for members whatever that is and 24 for the rest of us.

I have been in Zieglers Ace Hardware many times. The crew are very helpful and courteous. I always go to Ace when I need old faucet seals. I got a great deal on my Webber gas grill here as well. Great people work here!!

I called Wednesday morning to see if they were able to make a key for my Honda. The employee I was transferred to was extremely rude and after he asked about the make,model and year he told they were unable to make my key. I was feeling like he just didn't want to so I decided to call Ace in Wauconda and see if I got the same answer twice. I did not and they told me they were able to make the key for my car so I stopped by they ordered the fob and I will be back there next week when it comes in for them to make the key. If you are looking to get a key fob don't use crystal lake unless you want to be treated badly and lied to.

Top notch service! Went there this morning and the parking lot wasn't plowed yet (I am on a knee scooter at the moment). The manager came outside to ask if I needed any help getting in the store or finding anything once we made it inside. I did my shopping and by the time I was done, one of the other associates shoveled a path to my vehicle and walked with me incase I needed any additional assistance. Thank you for taking care of me! A+

I’m not a “handy” person so this is the best store for me. Today I needed to replace a light bulb. Yes, sounds easy but they no longer make the one. I was replacing. A replacement was suggested and they were absolutely spot on.
This is not the first time I have had to replace items that are no longer made. They always find a solution. I love this store. The staff is always friendly and willing to help.

I needed a new battery for my car’s key fob. I called Ace and spoke to Tom who said yes they carry fob batteries and to come on by and he would help me. Tom carefully took my fob apart, checking a uTube video to make sure he didn’t damage it in getting to the battery. Tom spent around 20 minutes or so replacing the battery and all the while, was very patient (as it was difficult to get to) careful and kind. Thank you Tom for all your help - you definitely went above and beyond to help this frantic customer. It is very apparent how much you and Ace Hardware value your customers!

I called and spoke to an employee named Mike and he was extremely helpful in finding 3 different products for cleaning jewelry and gave me all the details of the products without me even asking, and the prices. He gave me the name of another employee in case I came in after his shift was over in case I needed help and the isle number of the products and where it was located in the store. A great experience!!! Thank you Mike! I was very impressed with the customer service, as it’s not that often you get that. Ace is the Place

This is the best place to go when you need expert service. I needed a special key cut for my electric bike. The associate helped research what kind of key and cut it perfectly. Had I ordered the key from the manufacturer, it would have cost $45. Ace did it for $6.

When they say helpful hardware folks they’re not kidding. Phoned in to hold a capacitor for me as they only had 2 left and were the only store with them available for 25 miles, while there one of the employees helped me find some long needed screws for a light fixture and they were the exact fit and capacitor was waiting for me at checkout. Unlike big box stores I prefer to talk knowledgable adults for important things vs having a 17 year old just show me where the aisle is. Thank you ACE Il be back as needed

I recently visited Ace Hardware in Crystal Lake and was very pleased with how attentive the staff was, especially one associate named Leo. She was very helpful in finding my items and had such a friendly personality. It was easy to talk to. She was also very helpful in putting the 16 bags of mulch I purchased. I was very impressed with her strength. She was an extremely pleasant person , and I was grateful for her help. I will definitely return to this location because of her. Thanks Leo!
