The care provided to my sick little Beanie was absolutely wonderful! She is my newly adopted senior dog and she was scared and sick. Buy the doctor and staff calmed her, and me, and she is on the mend. I appreciate you kindness and care.BOBrien

Brought my fur baby in for her physical and vaccines. Usually nobody can keep her calm as she is a nervous nelly! She usually has to be sedated and wish I brought her here since I rescued her 3 years ago. The Dr. was so good with her no sedation was needed, she was happy acting like nothing was going on getting her blood drawn and being microchipped. The doctor took her time to explain everything and she listened to us. The staff was amazing, very friendly and welcoming. Facility was clean, no weird smells and warm. I highly recommend

I cannot rave enough about my Crystal Lake Veterinary Hospital and their amazing team! The care and compassion they have shown towards my furry friend is exceptional. From routine check-ups to emergency situations, they consistently go above and beyond to ensure the well-being of my pets. Sincerely, every Vet and technician there is professional, empathetic, and extremely knowledgeable. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone.

Overpriced veterinary clinic that not only does not care about the animals but also their owners. Don’t take the gamble. Shop around and save yourself the time, money and most importantly your animals health.

Poor experience with this location. We have a pet in need, we placed two phone calls (and online form) requesting a call back with no...ZERO response...I take that back, they actually took my name and number and still no response after three days.. How can you be in the business of saving animals and not even give the respect of a return phone call. I'm sure you are busy, still no excuse for the lack of response after multiple attempts.

I've been taking my dogs here for over 2 decades. The staff is friendly, helpful and they care. Dr. Nick---he is an extraordinary vet w enormous knowledge & he takes the time to explain from simple to complex--no matter how long it takes. He doesn't rush you out the door.. I moved over an hour away & I'm not changing vets because I know the best advice, care & flexibility is at this animal hospital. I lived in another state for a short time & I lost one pet to a freak incident w the vet there & Dr. Nick talked to me about it & explained how it happened. Who does that? Once, 15+ years ago, my lil dog was hung & injured by the groomers & they backtracked & Dr. Nick said then bring her in & we'll shave her neck to prove it & thats all it took (the threat) for the groomers to take responsibility. Who does that? No bill. He just cares. Most of my dealings have been w Dr. Nick. He's direct, sure--but you want your pets safe, healthy & happy---this is the best animal hospital around. The other vet there is also great, it's just that I find it easier on my dog to stick with the same doctor when possible, but Ibtrust her just as much. Their prices are reasonable. But if I need to get in quickly or have a question, they go above and beyond. It's a clean office w modern equipment and like I said, I trust them with all of my pets, past & present! They're not gonna push med's or services you don't need. I trust them with my fur babies life and that's priceless! In 20+ years & 4 dogs later, still the best vet around. I have nothing negative to say after over two decades.

Find another place. Two bad experiences with my new puppy. Even said they had no time to trim his nails with several techs around. How ridiculous. Found Drs uncaring, unwelcoming, and hard to get information from.

Thumbs up!!! My husband Tom brought our very elderly dog, Skeeter of 17 years in for a concern which we are monitoring and treating. My husband said Dr Nick was awesome and took time to thoroughly explain everything. The office even called the next day to check on our dog and how he was doing. I believe we have also dealt with Dr Bemis and she is awesome as well. The front desk and other employees have also been very caring.. I can’t say enough how happy we have been with your vet practice. Our only wish is that we found you years ago! Thank you again.

We just had my dog’s annual wellness check. Dr. Nick is very thorough with his examinations and explanations when discussing my dog’s health. Staff is always very nice and professional. My experience has been very pleasant.

If you genuinely care about your pets, please take them somewhere else. The vet techs/front desk staff have always been nice however the Veterinarians are the coldest, rudest people I’ve ever met. I started taking my lab mix here 6 months ago and have felt uneasy after every visit we’ve had. My dog was diagnosed with Addison’s disease last year and needs a monthly shot as well is on a strict diet to get his weight down to a healthy range, I had all of his records transferred from our previous vet when we moved so they had all his information and it was like they never even looked at it. I needed to tell them what his dosage for his medications were (they are based off of his weight so as he loses I have no idea how they are supposed to change). Our most recent visit was the last straw. I had scheduled for him to get his nails trimmed during our last visit along with his monthly shot and a Bordetella vaccine. I mentioned he has panicked a little when I take him to the groomers and he does better when the vet does it. This male veterinarian (who never even told me his name) came into our room after waiting almost 10 minutes to be seen, and immediately says “so what’s the deal with him getting his nailed trimmed?” I just mentioned he gets a little freaked out but isn’t aggressive, doesn’t nip or bark, he cut me off and suggested I either sedate or medicate him that day because “if he freaked out before he’ll always do it”. I said it wasn’t necessary, he’s had his nails trimmed at the vet before and was fine. He took the leash, called my dog a “Drama Queen” and then left the room. When he came back I asked how he did and he just said “fine”, I then had to ask how much he weighed and he told me 89lbs. I questioned him because at our last visit 3 weeks prior he was 83lbs and that there was no way he would’ve gained 6lbs in 3 weeks, and if he did, why are we not more concerned given his thyroid/adrenal disease? The male vet then told me “I guess I could be wrong but if you’re not being active with him, that’s how he gains weight. I’ll re-weigh him if you want.” I was completely offended and asked for him to be re-weighed. I went back with him and watched him be weighed again at 81lbs to which he said, “oh I guess I was wrong”. The cherry on top was as I was paying they realized they never gave him his Bordetella dose and had to give it to him in the lobby. I immediately started looking elsewhere. Our pets are our babies and these people do not care about you or your pets. If this was a pediatrician and an actual child I would hope they never worked with another patient again.
