(1.) NEVER purchase a John Deere mower (specifically the S160 model)! I spend a total of about $3500 on this piece of junk (including the mulching kit) and it makes my yard look like crap. After mowing my yard twice (because it looks even worse if you only mow it once like you would with a normal mower, it looks like a grass monster has made the rounds on my property, vomiting grass in clumps everywhere.(2.) AVOID shopping at this Home Depot because they wouldn't take this piece of crap back. To be fair to them, it was outside of their 30 day return window, but to be fair to me, it took weeks to get the mulching kit installed at a local John Deere dealership. I can't believe that Home Depot sells crap like this! Photos of my yard vs my neighbor's yard may be found below.Now I am in the situation of having to sell this 2 month old piece of junk.

The Fraud Investigations SuckMy Home Depot CC got hacked. Contacted Home Depot, they closed account and took care of fraud purchase and took charge off my bill. Great. Next year new Home Depot CC got hacked, Same procedure as the preceding year, but I said DO NOTissue a new account. They issued new account anyway. Talked to them again to close the account. They did. New hacked charge one month later on closed account. They investigate and tell me account was not opened by fraud of someone using my personal info.and I'm responsible for hacked charge. Good luck to anyone dealing with Home Depot and their fraud investigations...they suck!!!

We took possession of a home in Crystal Lake Illinois in early November 2019.As we have done on our other 6 homes around the country, we bought all new appliances.We never had a problem until this time. But then we never bought Samsung appliances or purchased them from Home Depot.OUR MISTAKE!Now we are the NOT SO PROUD OWNERS of a refrigerator that had the ice maker replaced 3 times and the Ice Chute door replaced.The installation drawing/ instructions with the Microwave were backwards and the Stove had a defective coating on the plate above the burners.The Dishwasher instructions were incomplete.At this time we were told that the bottom plate in the oven was a consumer, cosmetic problem. Problem with that, we never did anything to it. The coating came off and now we have rusted metal showing.Home Depot doesn't take the blame for any of this. However, they did send a couple of men out to try and install the microwave. After several hours, they got it installed and almost right. It still isn't level. Home Depot takes NO responsibility for any of this since they sell at a high price with no service.I think we should share this experience with other appliance retailers around the area. Dennis

Ordered stock cabinets that we were told were available in store if we wanted to pick up ourselves. We paid an extra fee to have them delivered. We specified we do not live at the delivery site and will need at least a 30 min. Call or time frame to get to the property. We were given a time frame from 6am to 8pm. A 14 hour timeframe!!!! Received a call at 6:30AM that the delivery was at the property and we let them know we were on the way but since it would be over 30 minutes they left. Then received call from 5 different Home Depot's all saying they had part of our order and would be arriving at different times or dates than what was previously agreed on. Only two of the deliveries showed up and the rest called to reschedule. Spoke to manager at Algonquin store (not where we purchased cabinets just one of the 5 delivering) and let him know how disappointed we were on the delivery scheduling. We advised that if they had to get cabinets from 5 different locations they should have delivered them to one store and then when the whole order was together deliver them to us. Especially since we were specifically told they were stock cabinets and at the store where purchased (Crystal Lake). Following weekend the rest of the cabinets showed up. 3 of the cabinets were damaged and one was missing. Went back to Crystal Lake store and was told the missing cabinet was delivered. Explained we did not have it and reviewed the photos the delivery drivers took of the delivery. Was told the Crystal Lake Home Depot had the cabinets in stock to replace the damaged cabinets but could not swap them out as they were sent from a different Home Depot and that would deplete their inventory!!! So now we have to schedule ANOTHER delivery for pick up and replacement for the damaged cabinets. I don't understand why Home Depot could not replace our damaged cabinets that day with their inventory and have the store that delivered just send them the cabinets. This was the poorest customer service and delivery we have ever had. I will not order anything from the Crystal Lake Home Depot again.

If I could rate them a 0I would. Buyer beware! They did a horrible job installing our floors. We had an inspector come out and the floors need to be fixed and leveled properly per the inspection report because the gaps we are noticing in are floors are just gonna get worse per the inspector. They damaged $3500 of our property and they are not reimbursing us for the damage that we caused. Right now we are out 25 grand for the floors because they won't fix the poor installation even after 4 attempts they cannot get the job done right. On top of that we have to pay another company to come out and redo the horrible job they did. If you get any installation done here expect it to be done wrong and your personal property to get damaged. And expect them not to answer you because that's what they have done even after we reached out to the bbb and provided proof of inspection. They will not even acknowledge the inspection report... g I wonder why? Crazy right!?!?

bought a washing machine there only because they could get it to us so fast only to stay home from work to take the delivery and they called literally 20 minutes before the end of their window to say the truck had broke down. very unprofessional and I won't be using them again

Very poor customer service regarding rheem water heater warranty claim. Had to bring it in. Their extended warranty was worthless and a waste of money. Their plumbing contractor wanted almost a &1000.00 to reinstall a new heater labor only. Something that only took 10 minutes for me to uninstall. The new one was an exact replacement. I ended up reinstalling it myself and it took about 45 minutes . They would only give me store credit so from a practical standpoint I had no choice other than to buy another heater from them because of the sizable credit. A terrible experience all the way around. I will never buy another appliance from them. I would rate them with a zero if that was an option.

I recently visited the Crystal Lake Home Depot and I had an issue in the parking lot with damage to my vehicle. I spoke with someone who claimed to be the store manager, a Ryan Deering, who gave me the phone number 847 502 9492 when I asked for a District Managers contact information, that I read back to him for verification. That phone number is a non-working number. When I called back to again file a complaint against the store I was told by a Jason Vasconez that HE is the manager and that a District Manager would call me the next day in order to file a complaint. I'm still waiting to hear from the District Manager. I WOULD not recommend this store or company NOR WILL I ever recommend this store or company to anyone I encounter.

I recently ordered a generator on line and checked the home delivery box. I checked it several times before putting through the order. I received an email saying that it was now an in store pick up. When I called customer service, they said they couldn't change the order to home delivery. I felt that the customer service rep was rude and unwilling to even try to solve the problem. This will be my last purchase from this store. There's a Menards right across the street that treats customers like they should be treated. Lesson learned.

We spent over $12,000 on laminate flooring and within 1 year we had buckling issues. We requested inspection and they said it was due to improper cleaning. Excuse me?! What does that mean?! Absolutely iresponsible and unethical practices. Wd just spent another 3,600 pmus 4,500 on leveling. A rip off. Thus company needs to be held accountable for its abusive practices. I will be filing complaints with better business bureau. Outrageous

I just watched two female employees ignore customers in line so they could pull their masks down and take selfies holding candy up to their mouths, candy that's in a bowl at the register and presumably for sale. No matter how you feel about the great mask debate, that was incredibly poor taste. A blonde woman and another in a hat. 12:45 pm on 1/24/21.

Purchased an lg refrigerator from HD for future delivery. It was delivered months later and it was defective. I purchased an optional warranty from Home Depot. The unit was deemed terminally non-useable by lg and we subsequently junked it with lg's permission. Sara, a manager with crystal lake Home Depot gave us erroneous information. She had a really poor attitude, coupled with ignorance of her own product and hung up on us. Where do they get these arrogant employees? Not a credit to Home Depot! Go to ABT for appliances and a much better price and service! Update: Don't ever try to get your money back on their totally useless assurant warranty because you will be out of luck and your money! Again......Go to ABT appliances in Glenview il! 847 544 2207

My friends dad has health problems so he ordered stuff from there online so we can go there pay and leave without having to go through the trouble. We got there to the far right where the pick up would be but they made him go to the far left which wasn't right and decided to check out other people even tho they said they couldn't right in our faces. My friends dad got mad cus he has a bad leg and there making him go back and forth. After confronting the cashier she keeps lying and almost causes him to have a heart attack! Not only that the other employees came around us not even 6 feet right behind our backs and I felt frighten the only way the people backed up was when my friends dad had to sit cuz of his heart acting up. 8 people around 4 customers like they were going to fight us. I've never seen such a crappy service and disrespect they gave this man.
