My experience with this car lot was great. The woman who helped me was friendly and honest. I left there with the car I went there to look at. My family has bought a few cars from there. I haven't had any problems with it. It's a very good car.

I have a friend who's elderly mom (70's) went to Jim's to buy a minivan. She left with a Chevy Equinox. The next day the check engine light comes on...She went back to Jim's and they told her "beat it!" "Everything is sold as is. Even though their web site promises a 15 days and 150 mile warranty...The Chevy Equinox 2.4l Ecotec engine is well known to possibly have serious mechanical issues. The check engine light that came on the very next morning (if it wasn't already on) indicated those very problems. Serious problems with the variable valve timing system that will cost thousands to fix...I don't think for a second that timing issue happened the day after the car was sold. In fact if you clear the codes and turn the check engine light off it is two ignition cycles later the light comes back on. Test drive the car, no light. Drive home no light. The next morning "check engine."..So I became aware of this when I went to see a car listed for sale. I was asking this little old lady the normal questions you'd ask about a car with a check engine light on. I know cars; I have my own code reader I take with me to use when test driving a car. I asked her what she knew about the issue and she was very forthcoming; very honest with me...I went home and googled the codes - very serious. I had to pass on the car but I started wondering about the chain of events. So I messaged my friend and asked how her mom came to posses this lemon. She tells me the story of how she bought the car and I couldn't believe it. ..This poor lady is stuck with this lemon - Jim's auto should be ashamed

I am very sorry Mike W. feels this way but forgets to mention the woman lied about the condition of the car 1 week later (when the problems actually started happening). You tend to have issues with a vehicle when it is wrecked an the front and passenger side have been damaged over a few thousand dollars. Even after being lied to and then told the truth when the mechanic told us the new condition of the car Jim still towed her car for free of charge.
