My daughter fell in love with a dress on TikTok that she really wanted to have made for her bat mitzvah. I asked around for the best seamstress to make a bat mitzvah dress and made an appointment with someone else. Days before our first appointment I started hearing stories about girls dresses falling apart that was made by this other seamstress. I got nervous and asked around once again and Mimika came highly recommended. I called Mimika and felt really confident with I had chosen the right seamstress by the questions she was asking me about my daughter and the dress. We got to know Mimika and her team pretty well during the dress making process since there were a bunch of fittings and she ended up altering the rest of the familys clothing for the big weekend. She is absolutely lovely. She also may be the busiest seamstress in town with the # of people coming in and out of her office for fittings, but she always made her deadlines. The dress she made was even prettier than the tiktok original. She also took the material from the dress and added it to a pair of white Jordan's, which completed the look. My daughter was thrilled. I was also thrilled with a dress she altered for me. I had trouble finding a dress to wear for the occasion and finally found one i liked, but not loved. However, after Mimika altered it I loved it and it was just perfect for the occasion. Two weeks before my daughter's bat mitzvah she had a little freakout that the high low dress she had chosen was going to rip in the mosh pit. She asked if we could shorten it and I called Mimika in a panic. She assured me there was no way this dress could rip, but said she would shorten it if that's what my daughter really wanted. I trusted that it wouldn't rip and she was right; the dress held up perfectly all night long (and there was a lot of moshing :)). I've already decided that Mimika will make my dress for my son's bar mitzvah in 2 years after seeing her amazing work. She told me to call her 6 months ahead of time to leave plenty of time. It's in the calendar, but look forward to visiting her for alterations before then.

I went to Mimika with my wedding dress. She told me it would be 3 fitting appointments. It ended up being 6 appointments after she kept making changes to my dress each time and told me to come back to try it on again. I noticed at my last fitting a brown ring of dirt on the bottom of my dress. It was a result of the dirty carpet in her office. Mimika and her coworkers used Shout on my dress and made a bigger stain. Mimika kept dismissing my concern over the stains. After asking 3 different dry cleaners to clean my dress, finally a place was able to clean it. I asked Mimika to reimburse the cost of cleaning the dress, and she never even responded. Unprofessional and disrespectful. Never going back.Service: Alterations

I have been trying to sew my own masks for weeks now. I also ordered a number of masks online all with the same result of having ill fitting uncomfortable masks. In addition my husband is picky. I saw a post from Mimika Design and had to order a mask.

Mimika is an incredible seamstress. She remade my 1985 puffy sleeved wedding gown into a beautiful cocktail dress for my daughter to wear at her wedding rehearsal dinner this past May. It was beautiful! She makes dresses and alters dresses too. Mimika is always pleasant to work with and has a great eye for detail.
