Hours: Exxon is located at the Dekalb rest stop on I-5, described as the last Oasis on the Toll and the only on-highway convenience center between Chicago and the Quad Cities on this route. It is a great stop to get refreshed and rejuvenated on a road trip. The gas is freaking incredible and the customer experience is second to none, though the gas is slightly cheaper here than suburban Chicago but more expensive than pricing further west. The area is well maintained and kept, with plenty of space to work using Wi-Fi or to relax in massage chairs. There are multiple food joints like Panda, MCD, and Pizza, though hours can be limited with some outlets closed on weeknights. The convenience store has a pretty good coffee selection. The facilities are noted as top notch, with restrooms freshly cleaned and supplied. Staff are described as super sweet, friendly, accommodating, and helpful, with exceptionally talented individuals. The location inside the oasis also offers other small attractions.
