P.A. Nehring is a charming small forest preserve that offers a peaceful escape in the midst of busy roads. Visitors appreciate its beautiful wooded trails, which are great for walking, especially with dogs on a leash. The area features a small picnic shelter and open fields suitable for family gatherings and games. While it can get a bit crowded at times, many enjoy the natural surroundings and the sounds of wildlife. Recent improvements have opened up new paths, enhancing the experience for those looking to enjoy the fall colors or a relaxing day outdoors. Although there are no toilets available, the shaded spots and the ability to bring dogs make it a favorite for locals seeking a touch of nature.
Didn't get to walk but it is wooded similar to a park back near my hometown. I hope to go back and walk the trails some day when my knees get better. I could hear the wildlife sitting in the parking lot even with the busy road next to the entrance.
