DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR IN FOR SERVICE HERE!!! I had to start with the above statement.
I made an appointment a week in advance for an oil change and a recall repair that consisted of a fuse for AB to be replaced. I drove up at 0645hrs for my 0700hrs appointment. (1st appointment for the day) Matthew, the advisor, also suggested that I rotate my tires. I agreed and proceeded to the waiting room as they knew I would wait for my car when I made the online appointment. The advisor came in after 30 minutes and told me that they were asking around other dealers if they had the recall part (AB fuse) as they did not have it. It's a recall part, and you're a Hyundai dealer. Shouldn't you carry it in stock? Long story short, 2.5 hrs later, I asked if my car was ready, and the advisor told me they just got my part in, and it would be another hour!! At that point, I told the advisor to immediately bring my car around. I asked him if he did my oil change, and he replied "no," then asked him if he rotated my tires and replied "no." I asked him what the hell was my car doing in the back lot for 2.5 hrs? It took them another 15 minutes to bring my car back from the rear lot. When the car pulled up both doors on my car opened up revealing a passenger/employee coming out. I couldn't stop but to recall the epic scene in "Ferris Bueller's day off" when the parking attendants took the car out for a joy ride!!!!! This dealership's service is complete and utter garbage!! Work ethic nonexistent and timeline promises are lies!!
If it were the last Hyundai dealership in the galaxy and my car was about to die.....I'D BURN IT INSTEAD AND GO WALKING EVERYWHERE!!! DO NOT GIVE YOUR BUSINESS TO THIS PLACE, YOU WILL REGRET IT and think of my review!!! Go anywhere else but here!!!

Service Representative was not focused on the task at hand. Providing service for the customer in front of him. It took 20 minutes for me to finally get my keys for my car. I will never use AutoNation Hyundai O'Hare ever again.

Just moved back to this area from Arizona bringing my 2017 Santa Fe with me
Knowing that the car had a previous paint recall
As soon as I arrived in the Chicago area and the humidity the paint started coming off the hood of my car
I went into this dealership for the first time to get an oil change and some advice
Jon,
The service advisor could not have been more helpful professional and communicative
He quickly got approval for this repair through Hyundai
Gave me a brand new loaner car to drive around while mine was in the shop
And messaged me at every turn keeping me informed of what was going on
I have already referred other neighbors and friends to the dealership for service and sales
And certainly wil be bringing my car here for future service needs

Evan and Tino were great. Evan was knowledgeable and very straightforward when I was corresponding with him through email and text. They provided a deal and didn't play games with me like some of the other dealerships did. In the end I bought the car here because I felt like they were honest and fair with their offers.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE
Took Vehicle in to have issue diagnosed as well as fix a Recall issue. Vehicle was dropped off on a Saturday for the recall issue and was told our vehicle would be diagnosed the following Monday or Tuesday.
We received no call or update on our vehicle, so I called and asked what was going on, I was then informed after calling many times before they picked up that our vehicle would not be looked at until the end of the week.
Friday rolled around and then still no update, no calls nada from the service department in regards to our vehicle. So I again, call up there, they couldn't have anyone look at the car until next week. Frustrating to say the least, but we went ahead and waited until the promised date of tuesday for some information.
The service advisor did not call us on tuesday, I called on wednesday morning and was told he wasnt in the office today and they didnt know what was going on with our car and to call back tommorrow.
I called thursday and asked what is the deal with the car its closing in on two weeks and no information regarding our vehicle. The service advisor had no answers for me, and gave me an excuse of the technician not being in until the following monday. So we waited, painstakingly again.
Monday comes and the technician still does not have a final answer on what was going on with the car, the service department had at then had my vehicle for a total of 16 days, offered no loaner vehicle no information nothing the entire time they had our vehicle and was full of excuses and nonsense as to why they had no answer for me 16 days of having my vehicle.
Finally tuesday they gave me a list of things wrong with the vehicle that needed to be fixed, which there were a few outside of the normal price gouging tactics the dealerships use, 1600$ for full brake job, etc.
Finally once they had given us a quote they somehow found a loaner vehicle for us to use for the 2 days it took them to fix the car. The service advisor tried to act like he was going to help us out with the price and gave us 100$ off the total price of the service when in reality he gave us less than what their online coupon was which was 150$ off of 500$ or more service. He did no no favors and tried to save their dealership 50$ after all this hassle and 18 days of having our vehicle.
This is by far the absolute worst experience I've ever had with a dealership, failure of communication, failure of follow through, failure to provide timely service, and failure for any spec of any actual customer service. I wouldn't recommend my worst enemy taking their vehicle here. I wish there was a 0 star option.

we recently purchased a Tucson Hybrid from John K at AutoNation Hyundai in Des Plaines and we can't recommend him enough! John was very chill throughout the whole process, never pushy or aggressive with the hard sell approach like we've experienced at so many other dealers. If you want to buy a Hyundai in the north suburban Chicago area, I highly recommend this dealer.

Juan was great to deal with. I would recommend this dealer. He was knowledgeable straight forward, and I felt like I didn't get screwed over. This dealer seems like they are about to do the right thing from my interactions. I had one concern, and Joe immediately called me and made it right. That is very much appreciated.
Update 7/2024: Dealing with service is horrible. I dropped off a brand new 2024, and the car has scratches that were not there when I dropped it off.

I was there for a service on my 2023 Elantra. I was there for about an hour and half. Service manager was very friendly & job was done within promised time. I came for service without appointment and they still took my car for service. That was very nice of them. Hyundai in Lincolnwood wouldn’t give me appointment for 10 days. They don’t service your vehicle without appointment. I will definitely comeback to Autonation for future service.

My 2016 Sonata was having issues. Towed here to Hyundai O'Hare. Everyone there was awesome! My service guy Matthew the BEST! Stayed on top of it with Hyundai, kept me informed the whole time, and answered all of my questions. Got the approval and new engine put in in record time! Thank you Matthew, great job!!! I will never bring either of my Sonatas any where else for service!

Less than 2 years ago, my daughter bought her used Hyundai SUV here. We should have insisted on an immediate refund when the car died and wouldn't start again, after simply driving straight from the lot to Ace Hardware on Lee Street. The salesman apologized profusely and they had to tow it off Ace's parking lot. Then it took several days to repair. Today my daughter went to replace her tires. She was told she shouldn't bother putting any more money into the vehicle by the mechanic. The undercarriage is rusted and eroded all the way through and missing chunks of metal on one side. If the cars have to pass inspections before sale, their inspectors are either blind or they don't care. This is NOT normal wear and tear during time she's had the vehicle. The worst part is she had to leave it overnight on June 16, 2024 for a recall. They did an inspection there again. (See attached photos) So at least twice the mechanics saw the damage and didn't mention it. She has already put thousands of dollars in repair into the vehicle since purchase and is still making payments, now this.
I notice all the 5 star reviews are very recent. Very convenient to boost the rating.
