Trying to buy a car and i had schedule 2 car to test and buy. On both times been cancel 1 night before and I lose 2 weeks already and using Uber going to my work which is really expensive just to wait for this company that apparently serious to work with. all i can say disappointed!!! guys read the reviews before!!!

I bought a beautiful van here last Friday. Mike and team were great. The team was BUSY with other things going on at different points in the process, but when it was my turn to get help, Mike gave me his full, extremely polite, non-rushed, and non-pushy attention.I had a couple of concerns during the process. Mike listened and acted to resolve my concerns quickly and fully.I'm really pleased with my experience and recommend this location--and Hertz Car Sales!

This place is amazing. Mike is just so helpful and a really nice man. Andy helped us from start to finish and he even made friends with my kid haha he’s a great guy with a great attitude. Over the last two years I’ve had nothing but pleasant experiences with these folks at Hertz. They’re my kind of people and provide excellent service.

Had the same experience as one of the other comments.I reserved a rent2buy car. When they did not call me to confirm pick up by the desired date, I called them multiple times. The customer service kept telling me that the car is in their store, but needs maintenance, and they can not give me any estimates about when the car might be ready. After 10 days, I got an email saying that the reservation was cancelled and the hertzcarsales website shows that the car is now sold.So folks -- DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE.

Find another place. Prices are equal or lower. Service by sale people is poor. I bought a car here, only bc I really need it asap, but, otherwise, I’d have go to another place.

A good car buying experience. Corey was our sales person. He was totally chill and got the car ready before we got there for a test drive. Just a couple of photo copies of the driver's license and we were on our way for test drive. No pressure sell. They don't really expect haggling as I think their pricing is acceptable. Compared to any dealership experience, this was the best experience. The only thing I wish was different was showing up a tad earlier than I did. We got there just 30 mins before close, and another couple was in the process of buying their car at the same time. The paperwork has to be processed for them first before we got to ours. So it took a bit of time to verify our identity and get the right paperworks together. The guys were Really friendly and made our experience a good one. Some good guys...Definitely call ahead of time, you don't want to be showing up for nothing if they already sold the vehicle. I think it takes a day to register on the website that it's been sold. I'll start car buying from Hertz vs going to a sleezy dealer the next time i need to replace my vehicle.

I don't know why this still have this location open. Hertz do something. Who reviews the feedback and does something about it. There's no way there are 3 years worth of complaints that haven't been addressed and a system in place. If I could give HERTZ a review itself I would give i 1/2 a star. This location smells as well.

This place has turned into the worst ... poor customer service and deceptive sales practices sums up my experience at this location so don't waste your time. Thank God I didn't purchase a car, boat or bike from this place ... buyer beware is all I can say

Mike Katz and the rest of the crew at DesPlaines were fantastic to work with. We came in with intent to rent to buy and realistically that didn't make sense for us. We test drove, and then began the process to buy. Everything was right about this experience, and I would definitely consider the two hour drive to do it again when we are next in the market to buy.

I had a reservation for the rent 2 buy option. No one called me so I called the office. No one was able to give me a clear answer at the Hertz office in Des plaines. 3 days of waiting for a call from Hertz to pick up the car only to find out that the car was sold. How can the car be sold when I reserved it? I would have been ok if they had just told me that the car was sold. Don't waste your time.

Had an appointment to buy a car there on Friday. The appointment was scheduled a week ago because the car would be delivered to their location only on Friday, calling them today and the lady said that the car that I scheduled to buy was given out for rent to someone else. What is it? Is that how you guys treat customers? Never ever coming back there again

If you're going here for LYFT....DON'T!!!! Unless you want to walk-out with High Blood Pressure. Poor Customer Service, no greeting, no sincerity, no respect. You will lose countless hours waiting for them just to renew your contract. Til they get new management which I doubt will ever happen. It's a waste.

We purchased a 2020 Toyota Corolla for our 19-year-old daughter from Hertz Car Sales in Des Plaines il in December of 2022. We paid 1/2 the cost and our daughter paid the other 1/2 of the cost. Around a month after we had the car, I noticed one day while looking at it in the driveway that the bumper was falling off. I asked my daughter about it, and she said it was "like that" from the day we bought it. My daughter works multiple jobs along with attending college. One of her jobs is working at a car wash. She talked to the owner of the car wash about the bumper, and as a favor he tried to attach it back onto the car. What he did worked temporally as he thought it would. My wife was going to contact a body shop to price having it fixed. I asked her to hold off. I wanted to contact the Sales office where we purchased the vehicle to discuss the issue with them first. Honestly, the more I thought about it the more I could not believe that a company like Hertz would sell a car with the front bumper falling off. I understand we bought the car used and didn't expect the car to be in perfect condition. The front bumper falling off seemed a bit ridiculous. I called the Hertz Car Sales office multiple times and left multiple messages with no success reaching anyone. When we initially purchased the vehicle, we were also promised a vehicle history report. Because it was late in the day the salesman said that he would have to mail it to us. My wife and I were comfortable moving forward with the purchase of the vehicle because we felt that we were dealing with a reputable company. As it turnes out, a month after the purchase we had to call multiple times to get the vehicle history report that we were promised. The tone we received from the sales office after the purchase of the vehicle was completely different to what it was prior to the purchase. I didn't think sales practices like this existed in today's world let alone with a large company like Hertz. We also had our mechanic look at the car and were informed that the rear brake pads were at 4mm and should be replaced soon. Again, not a big deal but something I didn't expect purchasing a car from a company like Hertz. Prior to posting this I reached out to the Hertz Car Sales office multiple times and left multiple messages asking to speak with the manager. I didn't even say what it was regarding. No response. I was able to get my message to the regional manager through speaking with an agent at the Hertz corporate office. The regional manager left me a voice message to discuss. I tried returning his call multiple times and texting him and have not heard back. Honestly, A two-minute phone call and explanation could have more than likely avoided this post. Never again.... Sincerely, Unhappy Customer.
