They were great 7 years ago. Almost bought a Tesla from them, hesitated and it got sold. Illinois is a dumpster fire of high crime, high taxes and low prosecution. Like many businesses they relocated out of state.

Would be 0 Stars if available. Absolutly the worse purchase experience in 34 years of purchase history. Unethical doesn't begin to touch on this dealership and all of its sales staff and management. Sold me a car (added $ on the backside of the deal), shipped car 6 WEEKS later, car showed up with huge cracked windshield (had to be replaced), gas tank cover wouldn't open (on empty)...had to tow to MB dealership to be replaced, was titled in wrong state. When correcting the title, the bank discovered that this "clean" car with "clean" title and "clean" CARFAX was actually a BRANDED title with lemon history and major mechanical issues. These guys took 7 months to "find me a full value replacement at no cost," only to want me to trade it on a car I had to locate and then wanted to charge me an extra $6,000 to "make the deal." Save your $$$ and run, don't walk from this dealership. Lesson learned. These guys perpetuate the cliché to the stereotype of sleepy used car dealership and slimy salesmen. Looking into legal action on this...

My mom and I traveled to Sam Jidd from Indiana for a 2016 Mercedes G63 AMG.. was listed as a clean title vehicle, but come to find out once titled in my mom’s name, the vehicle has a manufacture buyback brand on the title from California, a lemon. Shady salesman and a major regret doing business with them. Buyer beware.

Have purchased many cars from private dealers in the past. This was one of the better experiences. From the salesman to the finance guy, process was flawless. Communication was great and they worked with my needs on the vehicle.

Where do I even start? If my situation gets resolved, I will happy revise my review, because for the most part, my experience with this dealership was relatively positive, but wow, I will not do business with them again in the future. Don't stray away from buying from them, but please do your due diligence first. I purchased a $75,000 vehicle from them on May 6th of 2023. When I arrived at the dealership, I was able to take the car relatively quickly. Within about 5 miles of leaving the dealership in my new vehicle, I get several "car overheating" warnings, loss of power, and inevitably have to pull over. Luckily the dealership helped me out, came to get the car, and we went through the process of getting me into another vehicle. I'm happy with how they handled this part of the process - but it is their only saving grace. However, the vehicle they put me in had a broken rear view mirror. The sales rep, Jordan, wrote me a "we owe you" stating they would pay for the repairs to the rear view mirror. We are coming up on two months now and I still have not received my check (or my license plate). I have called several times, messaged Jordan several times (where he clearly stated the check would be sent), but I still have not received it. My calls are being ignored, put on hold for 15+ minutes, never getting a call back after leaving voicemails. I am out of pocket over $3,000 for a rear view mirror that they promised to pay for via a legal "we owe you" document. I buy a car every 2-3 months for my business and I love the options this dealer has. I was really hoping to continue purchasing from them. I will not purchase from them ever again. Please send me my check, call me back, and stop giving me the runaround. This review is my first step and I have no problem reporting to the FLHSMV and filing a complaint against their dealer bond if I do not receive this check within the next week.

Nice selection of luxury cars. Great pricing. My BMW was listed at thousands under market price. Jesse was my sales person. He really knows the inventory well, also very professional. I drove down from Milwaukee, so they had everything ready for me. This dealership is Husky friendly.

I had a great experience with SJL Motors. John assisted me in a trade-in and the process was easy with no pressure or typical salesman antics. My overall experience was great and all of my questions were answered on the vehicle I was looking at.

Not sure I would call this a luxury dealership. Purchased a car from there in November and they were supposed to order me a no-drill front license plate bracket since it is legally required in Iowa. They ordered one for the wrong vehicle and have now been arguing with me since the first week of April that they are only going to send me one that drills into my bumper. Yet when I returned the incorrect one, they stated very clearly that they were going to order the correct no-drill bracket that I had requested. “Just send that one back and we’ll get that one you sent us the link for ordered.” 6 weeks later, here we are.Don’t think I would purchase a car from a “Luxury Dealership” that argues for months over an $80 license plate frame lmao

Was very pleasantly surprised when we entered the building. We had been to parking lot dealers before. But, SJL was a very professional looking office. Adrian was very helpful and knowledgeable about what we needed. The Dodge van we ended up buying was very clean and seemed to be in very good shape during our 30-minute test drive. Adrian was great at getting all the paperwork completed and explained each one in detail. As I am the only driver, they delivered the van to our house free of charge (an hour away). All in all, one of the best car buying experiences I have had.

BAIT AND SWITCH - 2/18 we agreed to a purchase price for the car of $24,200. We would come in on 2/23 to purchase (cash, no financing). We get a revised quote ($200 lower for accessories). Getting ready to sign, ask about getting a second key. The sales manager (Adrian) comes back and tell us the price base has gone up $25,500 ($1,300 more) and there was nothing he could do. Didn't have an answer when we asked how could we get the revised price 10 minutes earlier. We walked.

The sale and everything was fine at the dealer. The salesman, John, that I worked with seemed to be good, honest and upfront about everything with the car. The only negative was the stereo face plate was missing from the audio system. We made a "Gentleman's" agreement, with hand shake that he was going to locate that from the previous owner. Previous owner actually being a personal friend. The week after the sale, I made several calls. After the first returned call, I never heard back from John again. I continued to make contact. He was always on another line and/or he would get back to me. Crickets.... Never got the face plate, nor compensation for that. Very disappointing.

SJL was fair with pricing of both the trade in an purchase price of the new car. Very transparent and did not try and pull and tricks on me. Would buy from again. Michael and Paul were very nice to work with.

Hands down one of the best car buying experiences I’ve ever had in my life… My salesman Mike was absolutely fantastic and knowledgeable about the vehicle I purchased and the finance manager Gio was more than accommodating and was a tremendous help in getting my car financed! If you’re looking for a new or used vehicle look no further than this dealership as like I said they’re top-notch from the top down!! Thank you so much!!
