Recommended through a past-customer/friend of family. Totally professional, courteous, and cooperative service, from shopping for our flooring choice, to measurement, to removal of old flooring and installation of new. Flooring is a massive, painstaking and dust/dirt laden job, but the Scharm team were everything we expected and more. Kristy, Fred, and the install team (Herb/Tony) all get high marks. In total, a great value on a home renovation the wife and I were not looking forward to. Bravo! August 2025

I am a lifelong Des Plaines resident. I Always heard about Scam flooring. I was in talks with Matt about a repair ( who disappeared ) and ended up with Jake. Weeks later, Jake came and looked at the area to estimate a repair. I never heard from him. After weeks of leaving messages, I called the store directly and spoke to Mr. Scharm himself. Explained that I emailed Matt and then Jake. Gave photos despite them being here to take photos. Mr. Scharm came to my home and never gave me a quote on my repair. Months went by, and I just popped in the store. A blonde woman took my info and said I would be contacted.. ( guess how talkative ended ) I then called (MONTHS LATER ) to follow up and was rushed off the phone! The woman who answers said they didn’t do the repair I was asking for. Just as a reference. I clearly explained the wood flooring that needed repair and was told clearly that it was in their wheelhouse. She basically told me that she couldn’t help me. My 6 inch repair is now almost 12 feet of floor separation. What a waste. I will never work with this scam of a company. They just waste your time and I don’t trust the work that would come from them. Go to a big box store and get treated like a human being. Mr. Scharm, you should be ashamed of the business culture you have created. I understand why everyone leaves your employ.

Excellent quality work and customer service across the board! The first step in rehabbing our new home was working with Fred and Kristy to obtain measurements and discuss options for hardwood flooring and carpet, and their communication was prompt and thorough. Pricing was fair and transparent which gave us confidence throughout the process. Thanks to Sile's team for their fantastic work refinishing and staining hardwood floors, and thanks to Ray and his son for flawlessly installing new carpet.

Showroom staff very friendly and helpful. I'm retired and have had a home for 40 years and never bought carpeting before. They were tremendous with everything they did. Installation was quick, clean and professional. I highly recommend Scharm Floor Covering.

We had a wonderful experience with both sales and delivery/installation. We needed an old-school flooring business like this to help us with carpet selection all the way to installation. They explained the different types of carpet materials that would work best for the room we needed it for. Speaking of which, no room is too small for their business. We only needed carpet for a small 7x10 room, and they said no problem! They even provide the installers. No need to look for a separate company. We are so pleased and will definitely use Scharm's services again.

Very helpful in the store. Showed different options and styles. installation was done in one day and the installer was a great person. the kitchen floor looks beautiful. I get many compliments . I had my living room and dining room done by Scharm and it also was a great experience. They are helpful and know their products. I would recommend them 100%

I have bought carpeting and flooring from this company. They are easy to work with and have decorating ideas that are so helpful in making choices. Their installers are amazing. Quality all they way. This is the only store I would buy my flooring from! Highly recommend.

Great Experience! I had a really hard time finding a carpet type and color I liked, but had a specific style in mind. Scharm helped me with the process, answered all my questions, and even did a bit of research to get me the carpet I found on-line.
