Fantastic service. They were very polite professional and quick. They didn't have any coffee or water in the lobby for customers. They play great music in the waiting room. Plenty of seating available for guests and customers while waiting. The waiting area is extremely clean. They offer explanations and copies of paperwork when you check out. I would definitely return for oil changes on my vehicle. Thank you to the entire team.

Can't say enough good things about Mike & his team. Was in the area visiting friends when I had an issue with my wheelchair carrying hitch that would have made it impossible to drive to get home safely. CarX was the closest shop and when asked, they said to bring it in, even tho it isn't a general service they offer. Mike and his team made quick work of my car, gave me a complimentary tire top-off, and made sure I was good to get back home safely. Excellent and quick service!

My check engine light came on so I called here for an appointment. I was told they would check it out for free. When I arrived, I was told it would cost $100 for an inspection. I just wanted to get it fixed so I agreed. They came back with $900 for an O2 sensor and fuel ratio sensor replacement. I talked with a few other shops and they said that the price was way too high. I declined the repair and tried to use a $10 off $100 or more coupon I got in the mail from them. They said they couldn't accept it since the total was $99.99. Are you kidding me! Absolutely ridiculous. I was able to talk them into using the coupon, but the total still came to $100 with tax. This place is a rip off. Avoid them at all cost!

Fair prices, good location, fast turnaround. They take good care of your needs, we appreciate the help!!!Mike is an excellent manager and has taken good care of our fleet work, he’s able to squeeze our tire/exhaust work in around his retail work.I see a lot of the locals taking their cars here and this shop keeps busy, best to make an appointment

Mike, the manager, exceeds in outstanding customer service. He takes the time to explain what needs to be done and is very knowledgeable. He truly cares about his customers and takes great pride in his work as well as his mechanics. You won't find a more honest and caring crew at this CarX!

I'm sorry for the long note here, but I feel it's important to share the terrible customer service provided by the Downers Grove Car-X manager Mr. Mike Judy. Let me start by saying I've been a loyal Car-X customer for more than 15 years and never had an issue until this new management.I brought my car into the DG location for a regular oil change and while paying, I just wanted to confirm the tires were inflated to the proper pressure as I know there is a slow leak in one of the tires. The manager, Mr. Judy and the technician confirmed the tires had been inflated. I could see the tire looked low but trusted they had done what they said. When i got home and checked the pressure it was only 18psi and not 33psi. Not the end of the world but I don't appreciate being lied to. A few days later, I started hearing a "thumping" sound from a different front tire, like there was a large nail. When I got out and checked the tire, there was no nail or apparent damage to the tire. The next morning, the noise got worse so I took my car to the local repair shop near my house. Their diagnosis ... the lug nuts were loose ... they never tightened the lug nuts after rotating my tires. When I called Mr. Judy to explain my situation, he never apologized but offered a free oil change. I said no, I want a full refund (because I'm never going back there again) and I also think it's only fair that they reimburse me for the cost to diagnose the issue and repair it. Mr. Judy agreed to reimburse me for both. A few days later, I received an email from Mr. Judy saying he would now only reimburse me for the tire repair but not the original oil change. When I called him to get an explanation, Mr. Judy was very dismissive, rude and failed to accept any responsibility by trying to tell me that there was nothing wrong with the oil change and therefore no refund. Nothing wrong with the oil change?? Last I checked, tire rotation and tightening all the lug nuts is part of the Car-X's oil change service. A $50 refund seems like a small price to pay in order to satisfy a dissatisfied customer and make up for their lacking aptitude. Unfortunately, Mr. Judy has zero people or management skills as this would have and should have been handled much differently. All things considered, we are all very lucky my tire didn't come off and severely hurt me, my family and/or any other unlucky bystander, not to mention the car damage it would have caused.

Tried to get me to pay for a new catalytic converter or 2 rather than check the sensor first. Didn't even check my tires even though the tire pressure light is on. For a $50 oil change to not inflate my tires enrages me.Then they had the nerve to call me about my review. As if anything they could say or do would get me to trust them now.

Really surprised that an auto repair facility doesn't know much about cars or parts. They automatically try to sell you the most expensive parts on the market. You won't save any money here. They are the same price as the dealer quote I received. However the dealer was more honest and actually told me to buy the part online in order to save $500 and then they would install it for one hour Labor. Now CarRx insists on buying the part from Toyota and then installing it. Nobody wants to throw money away. Especially if your vehicle is over 15 years old. The customer service representative then pretends that only the dealer makes this part.Actually many companies make the part. It is a very common part. When I tried to tell him which auto parts supply stores have it available he acted condescendingly "oh we don't deal with those types of parts suppliers. Dude was a moron. Or maybe he was just a liar because nobody can be that ignorant.Avoid this place. It's amazes me that the dealer had more integrity.

quoted a different price and then increased it 3 times more. On top, the guy was rude and had a terrible attitude for no reason whatsoever.

Fabulous place to get my vehicle fixed. Was reasonably priced compared to other carx and places similar. They have a great mechanic that actually takes his time to truly fix the issues so the car doesn't have to return unlike other businesses of this nature. I think his name is Dominic. He fixed my car and I would recommend him to others.

Riders avoid. Place can't even change a 20 inch tire if it's an aftermarket rim. Guy says they are not a tire shop even though "tire" is in their name smh. They dumped my tires by my car and didn't even bother taking them apart

Got sent here from another car x. Called he guy and told him I had rat damage to my sensors / wires and he didn’t even want to help me. Went over there and asked if he could check it out and I could get an estimate. The guy was knowledgeable but sounded like didn’t want to help me unless I paid for them to fix the problems on the spot. After pressing him he eventually agreed to go out to take a look but then wouldnt do anything because there were plastic covers on the engine area (could be taken off in 5 minutes top). I would have paid for a diagnostic session if he just offered it. Literally asked him if he was saying he couldn’t help me and wouldn’t say that either.Dealing with this guy was like pulling teeth. I came back from autozone after using their code reader to figure out the problem, even then the guy was being a pain in the neck and totally unhelpful. He eventually agreed to write up an estimate of what it would cost to repair. On the estimate he put 99 dollars for a diagnostic on top of the other stuff. Dude why didn’t you just offer me that before??? He also said the part from them would be more than twice the one listed from autozone. I went to Midas and told him the same thing and scheduled a diagnostic appointment for next week. The guy at Midas was so much nicer and straight to the point and willing to help. Y’all could learn a thing or two. Had a good experience with car X in northside Chicago but not going back, at least not to this one.

I had been going to this Car-X for over 20 years, with all my vehicles. NEVER again. This is the 3rd time I have scheduled a appointment, this is the 3rd time I have had to go somewhere else. They didn't attach the motor cover on my car after some work they did, on my way home part of it fell off I had to pull over climb under my car and remove the rest of it. They can't rotate my tires because they can't get them off yet when I got new tires there was no problem. They tell me I need a new air filter ASAP, take it in to get done they tell me its ok.I don't know what happened over there new management, but I sure do miss the old. They will never get another penny from me !!!!!Service: Oil change
