I just received my suv back from this shop which was in need of a variety of suspension and steering work. After a little hiccup and needing to bring the vehicle back because of a continued noise issue (the reason for the 4 star and not the 5) it was rectified at no additional cost to me. They even used extra new parts to solve the issues and did NOT charge me anything! Rob, the manager, went above and beyond for my needs. He was curious and professional. Would definitely recommend this place for honest work and customer care

My service advisor was great quickly detecting and explaining an oil leak on my truck and I would give him more stars. HOWEVER, this will be the 2nd time that proposed/recommended services were added to a repair estimate for work already done by Firestone. It would be nice if service records were readily available and accurate for advisors. I feel a bit taken advantage of as a female. Your staff seems to think I either don’t know any better and/or don’t know the repair history of my car OR they are not trained to look at the repair history of the vehicle on file. I’ve decided to my car to a local small shop I can trust.

Came in for tire rotation, alignment and radiator flush. Not sure if radiator flush was ever completed. Coolant level is still low. Have had decent service at this location in the past. Recent service not quite as good.

My daughters had a flat tire today 11/19/2024. Had all 4 tires replaced on 11/15/2024, they charged for servicing the tpms. Air was just pouring out of the LF sensor. A few others looked like small leaks. No value caps were put back on. I know there were caps on when car came in on the 15th. Very disappointing experience and service. This is my daughters car. I trusted you to service it , and my daughters were severely let down. You can see value stems weren't serviced. Disappointing shop.

Don't even know where to start here....
Had my car towed to this location for service. I explained the problem to a person over the phone and was told not to worry because they had their ACE working on it and he's seen everything and was so experienced and blah blah blah. I would later on end up meeting this "ace" and he comes off as a total bozo who checks all of the boxes of a stereotypical duct-tape mechanic. But anyway a day or two passes without any update, so I call them. I get told they had to order a part and it will be a few days, but their ace is on top of it. Okay, fine. Several more days pass and I still haven't heard from anyone so I AGAIN call them for an update. They say they are still waiting on the part but they'll have it for sure later in the day. That time comes and goes and I still don't hear from anyone. This is now 3 times that they said they'd call me but haven't and in turn I've had to be the one to call them. Turns out they received the part, but it didn't fix the problem
Now I'm a little upset, because it's been several days, their communication has been awful and their supposed "ace" still doesn't know what's going on. At this point I go in to the shop and meet the ace who presents himself in a way that gives me no confidence at all. But as I leave the shop they tell me they will get to the bottom of the problem.
Another day or two passes with no update (of course) so now I'm really getting upset. I call in and ask for the manager. The manager says they are 100% positive of the problem and the needed part is being delivered "right now" and I will be able to pick the car up in 2 hours. He literally actually said "it's a 100% guarantee." Well, 1 hour and 45 minutes pass and they then call me (1st time they actually called me!!). It's not the manager who calls, it is some kid who works the front desk and sounds like he's 16 years old. The kid tells me the part did not fix the problem and "we don't know what's wrong and we can't fix it. My manager is not available, but he said you can call our corporate office and speak to Roberto." WHAT?!?!?!?!?! What happened to your 100% guarantee that you had it fixed? And what kind of manager puts that type of burden of delivering this news on a 16 year old kid while the COWARD manager ducks and hides???? Needless to say, the car has been brought to a different mechanic at this point.
Summary = terrible communication at this place. They never call you, you always have to call them. The manager is a COWARD who doesn't have the stones to give bad news to a customer, instead he lets some kid making minimum wage handle that while he ducks and hides. Their "ace" mechanic looks like he makes most repairs with duct tape...... AND based on what I've read in many different reviews from people, apparently them just simply not knowing what's wrong and not fixing cars is sort of to be expected at this place as I'm not the only person who is reporting this type of thing. These guys are not technicians. They are parts-changers. They don't troubleshoot and solve, they just throw parts at the problem hoping to get lucky. That's the worst type of mechanic. And when you combine that with their awful customer service and a manager who is afraid to deal with customers you end up with this awful review. Once of the worst experiences of my life.
****EDIT IN RESPONSE TO THE GENERIC FIRESTONE RESPONSE BELOW..... You're asking me to email you with the store that this pertains to???? You clearly have that info given that you see what firestone location I am actually reviewing. You guys have the same GENERIC COPY-PASTE TEMPLATE response to every single negative review on here, which just further proves how lousy you are. You aren't actually reading the complaint, you are just giving a generi

Brought my vehicle here for a power steering issue. Was charged over 2,000 dollars just for the issue to not even be fixed. When I picked up my car I saw that Nate made my vehicle extremely dirty .. Nate told Anthony “it was already like that”. What a joke. Drove to work.. was on my way home and saw there was a liquid coming from my hood. Pulled over… popped the hood and saw that Nate loosened my radiator cap for absolutely no reason seeing as he didn’t even need to work on that area of the car… coolant was emptied everywhere. Upon reading my receipt I saw that he had the nerve to write on the notes that it was “leaking”. No.. you just unscrewed it for whatever reason. (Been driving it for weeks now after it was screwed back on and it’s been completely fine no leaks at all).. I wasn’t going to write a review seeing as this happened about a month ago and the owner was very understanding and nice he fixed my fluids, screwed on the cap and did try to compensate me for the cleaning of my car.. however the 2,000 job was not completed and I drove past there today and saw Nate still working there and I couldn’t resist. DO NOT LET HIM TOUCH YOUR CAR. I went there for about a year and will never be back.

$287 for an oxygen sensor? They don't cost more than $75. This place is a ripoff!! Way too expensive. Told them I'm going somewhere else. Kyle hung the phone up on me. So, add "unprofessional" to the red flag list. I've been a Firestone CC holder for over 20 years. I thought that I would be treated better. Guess not. So, never going back.

**Review for Firestone Auto Care in Downers Grove, IL**
I am extremely disappointed with the service I received at Firestone Auto Care in Downers Grove, IL. I had an issue that required follow-up, and it took over a month for anyone to get back to me. When I finally spoke with Eric Johnson to explain my situation, he became frustrated and hung up on me. This level of unprofessionalism is unacceptable.
I will never be taking any of my cars back to any Firestone after my experience with this manager and with corporate. I’ve had my car inspected at multiple other shops, and they all said that Firestone caused a tear in my boot, resulting in leaking. Plus, they charged me $1100 to not fix what I came in there for.
I expected much better customer service and communication from a reputable company like Firestone. I hope this feedback is taken seriously to improve the service and professionalism at this location.

Horrible shop to go to! I was quoted on parts I didn't even need. The store manager Anthony gave me an ultimatum on when to pick my vehicle up. He didn't even try to explore all options possible. I literally had to call the call center and get a manger on the lime before he gave me all of my options. I was told $3000 was needed to get my car up and running. I went to HI-Tech Imports right down the road and they accurately diagnosed my car and worked the problem. If I stuck with Firestone I would've been out of $3000 and my vehicle still would not have been up and operational. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST IF YOU WORK HARD FOR YOUR MONEY!

I had my tire patched and they did a great job for a great price but they always try to upsell on unnecessary service. Kyle the front desk manager said my break pads looked worn and needed to be replaced. I declined the service. I left facility and in the next 2 days of driving, my engine overheated. When I opened the hood, I found that the Firestone tech left the cap loose on my radiator and the radiator and reservoir were empty. I had to pay for 3 bottles of coolant due to this error. When I went back to the shop to discuss the matter, Kyle said he would flush and fill the system free of charge. I declined and rightly so since I don't want anyone from this facility working on my vehicle. When I asked for compensation for the coolant, he said I would need to talk to the manager and he would be in, in an hour. Needless to say I did not wait for the manager Anthony Antonini, and when I mentioned to Kyle that I would be leaving a 1 star review and for a potential call to the BBB, he told me to leave the shop due to other customers in the room hearing the conversation. When I got home, I reviewed my invoice and when I went to review my service history my account had been deleted. I do not recommend this facility due to poor care and poor customer service.

I was on my way down state for the eclipse when my low tire warning showed up. Firestone agreed to see me right away and discovered it was due to a rusted valve. They fixed it for a reasonable fee, got me back on the road and saved the trip.
