Breakfast was delicious! Staff very friendly and helpful. A worthwhile destination in a town with plenty to see and do. Even offered us a great dinner recommendation! “Awesome time for our cousin family reunion. Several first-timers at axe throwing, and a few with some experience. Our instructor Kaleb did a great job of making everyone feel comfortable, giving us throwing tips, and suggesting how to make it a fun competition. Kaleb even helped by creating a bracket for our group so we could give out our trophies! Only wish it was an air-conditioned tent since it was a warm day outdoors, but the large fans definitely helped! Everyone had a great time, and we are definitely planning on coming back again.”

“The Candlewood Suites in Bloomington Normal has been an absolute delight to stay at.

The rooms are incredibly spacious and come equipped with all the facilities I could ever need, making it the perfect home away from home. And the fact that a Walmart is conveniently located nearby is just the cherry on top.

As someone visiting the area for business, this hotel has been an absolute best - it provides a comfortable and well-appointed space to rest and recharge after a long day.

I highly recommend the Candlewood Suites to anyone looking for the best hotel experience in the Bloomington Normal area.”

“We stayed here for an overnight stay due to an event in the area we were attending. The price was steep for one room overnight, especially when the indoor pool and hot tub weren't working that day. That's why I cannot give this 5 stars. The cost is very prohibitive. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were greeted well upon entry and even offered a match rate to another holiday express in the area when we noticed online a sister hotel had a cheaper rate listed for the same room (we mistakenly thought it was the hotel we were staying at). The room was decent but nothing spectacular. The lighting was a bit lacking. 1 recessed light in the entryway of the room and 2 lamps. No other higher up lights. Decent channel amounts on the TV but not much to see really. Loved the coffee pot/keurig. Wish they would provide more than 2 pods to brew in case you want more in your room. The breakfast was nice but not amazing. Lots of good variety though. My favorite was the pancake maker. I really liked warm fresh pancakes. The cinnamon rolls we tried were good but a little dry. Coffee in the breakfast area was very well made.Overall it was just ok. Not a great price for what you get. But I can say the man working the desk was nice, all the staff we ran into were nice and the breakfast was good. I wish a one night stay was more affordable.Rooms: Bit plain and not well light if the shades are drawn. Only 2 lamps and a recessed light by the room entranceFood & drinks: Breakfast was decentBest parts for me was their brewed coffee and the pancake machine.”

“The services provided by the banquet department were superb. The staff was attentive, professional and very responsive.

Front desk service is reason I do not give five stars. I asked for directions to meeting location and was sent to wrong guest meeting. I interpreted this as not being listened to when making request.

Rooms: Rooms just ok. View was literally concrete roof top. No reason to open curtains at all.

Safety: I felt safe at this location.

Walkability: It is practically on the campus of ISU. Walkable to nearby restaurants and. Small businesses.”

“Perfect place to spend some fun time w/my 5 & 7 yr old littles. So glad I drove the extra miles to come to Bloomington!!Park was clean, well staffed & well organized. The area is packed with activities but still roomy. Kids of all ages and their adults were all having fun.Great experience all around and worth every penny!!”

“Parking is across the street. Hotel cleaning left three coffee cups and a pink rag and no envelope for a cleaning tip, which obviously the cleaning team sadly didn't earn a tip. The breakfast bar was exceptional, the rooms were comfortable and a great value. Had a magnificent time! Highly recommend for weddings, family events.”
