I had bought a prepackaged meat product that turned out to be less then satisfactory, I called and talked to the meat manager to express my dissatisfaction figuring that he would make good on my unsatisfactory purchase, profit margin must be tight for this store cause rather then do what it takes to satisfy a customer he told me that there would be nothing they would do as far as replacement or refund! I subsequently contacted the supplier and explained the situation, which by the way, perhaps I should have done in the first place, and they very cordially agreed to make good on what I would have thought a good retailer would have done and then take it up with the supplier, I have no doubt after dealing with the supplier they'd have made it as right with pacemaker as they did with me!! It's apparent to me from my experience and reading other customer reviews customer relations isn't anything that they are overly concerned with!!!

Head manager likes to hound you like she's mad at the world for her career choice. She has bad manners and will tell her negative opinion about you to her coworkers ( even the young twenty something's) Makes you feel like if you're using your senses and brain to take the time to choose your products like looking around and being aware, she has something to single you out for. The deli is dirty, food in the showcase is crusted around the edges and dingy looking. Prices are not anything to bring up praise for. Too many drinks in the drink aisle while not focusing on better produce. Needs better management that knows how to talk to people , she can't do it with her customers, so how is her chief executive boss going to learn from her. She's a bad example to the community.

This is the WORST store EVER! The meat is brown, nasty looking. I don't think red meat is supposed to brown and stinky! The produce is rarely ever fresh. They are old and nasty looking. Frozen foods are expired! The staff are all rude. They have never, in 2 1/2 years said thank you and they rarely ever even acknowledge you at the checkout counter except to sometimes tell you the total. Now they are putting a 2% surcharge for inflation on your total! Their prices are already convenience store prices and to charge another 2% on top of that??? I'm done! I try to shop local but not here any more!!

Overall, the drive to a different store is worth the tripThe owner seems more and more like a con the more time that goes on. I got a head of lettuce the night before a gathering, by the next morning it was rotting and horrible. Same thing with meat, looking at dates many are past expiration. Then there is the "surcharge fee". At the bottom of every receipt when you check out, they add a 2% fee to the order just cause. The owner did this and claims it is because of the market, but the prices have already been adjusted up to match. You will probably save more money with the fees and costs than the cost of gas to get to a different store

I'll admit, a nearby grocery store is nice, but their prices prove that they know they are the only choice. Very friendly people, but I constantly find expired meat still in the fresh meat cooler. Produce is very often past their selling point. Prices at register are often not what they are marked at and if you're not watching, you'll end up overpaying. Most times, I understand a limited selection, but fresh bagged spinach seems to be a no-brainer to have instead of 3 varieties of 50/50 salad mix. Overall, it's good to have the store here, but it's definitely in need of work and I only go if I REALLY don't want to drive a few more minutes to Pec or Monroe.

$1.79 for a head of iceberg lettuce is beyond a rip-off

He should be sued for false advertisement. Every time there's a sale going on they put out ads and they put up prices but then as soon as you ring out they never honor them. The owner is a glorified con artist and should be prosecuted for theft from the local community.

8/16/2020 I was just at the store and cannot believe that 40% of the customers were not wearing masks. The State of Illinois mandate is that everyone over 2 years of age is required to wear a mask inside a public store. The store is required to refuse service or make special accommodations for customers that do not wear masks. I feel it is irresponsible for people to put their fellow citizens at risk by not wearing a mask. It is not that hard to wear a mask and follow arrows. I have referred this issue to the village of Durand for investigation and correction.

This past Sunday (Father's Day), I shopped at the Durand location for my 80 year old mother, who has several pre-existing health/risk conditions. I have been shopping for her weekly since March. In the past, employees at the Durand location enforced the state required mask requirement and asked customers to put on a mask. Although - I frequently saw workers behind the deli counter without a mask. This past Sunday, 4-5 patrons without a mask entered the store (that I saw), while I was shopping. None of the employees asked them to wear a mask. They walked throughout the store without a mask and were in line behind me, and were not observing the 6 foot distance requirement. Just over the past several months, I have spent hundreds (if not thousands) of dollars at this store. If they are not willing to protect their customers by enforcing the law, I will take my business elsewhere. I am extremely disappointed by what I observed and was subjected to on Sunday. Customers without masks put me, my elderly mother, and their employees in jeopardy.

I have no clue why this place has bad reviews. The frozen pie section is truly life changing. Banana cream pie? Coconut cream pie? Chocolate pie? You name it they got it. Your one stop shop for groceries + the best damn pie
