Eddie's is a casual, cafeteria-style restaurant known for its flavorful soul food and friendly service. Located inside a convenience store, it offers take-out only, with limited truck parking nearby. The menu features a variety of fried fish, such as buffalo fish, whiting, and fish sandwiches, which customers find simple but delicious, especially when paired with pickles, onions, and hot sauce. The green beans, mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, and greens are also popular sides that are full of great flavor. The ham hocks are large and tender, often falling off the bone, and dishes like ribs and beef liver receive praise for their taste. Jazzy cakes are available for dessert, adding a sweet touch to the meal. While the food is generally good and satisfying, there can be inconsistencies, as noted when a meal was salty or when a dish was not as expected. The staff is friendly and quick, making the experience pleasant. Though parking can be uneven and the lot small, customers appreciate the quick turnarounds and flavorful food, making Eddie's a favored spot for those seeking hearty, soul food favorites.
Week of Thanksgiving was the first time I got a bad meal. Was treating my nephew to a birthday lunch. To my surprise later, I bite into salty meatloaf and very salty mashed potatoes. Uggggh. To many cooks in the pot that day. They get 1 pass.....
