Jackson and other staff at Edwardsville store were a great help yesterday! He was very knowledgeable on helping me and my wife with our footwarr and compression sleeve needs! The basement of how I walk and how to best address my needs. Hooked me up with a great pair of shoes and insoles. This will be my first pair of Altras!! Also went from power step insoles to CUR REX insoles. My wife had been looking for a compression sleeve for sometimes and the staff measured the length and circumstance of her calf to help her out! Great positive experience!! Well done!

the first time i ever went here was a few days ago , and it was because my physical therapist recommended this place to me . so first off , i feel like it’s an amazing sign that a physical therapist would recommend this place .
when i went there , a woman named jen instantly asked if i needed help and she sat and listened to my problems with my feet and shoes and she was ON IT . she measured my feet , had me walk on a treadmill to watch how my feet move when i walk , and brought me a LOT of shoe options . she did not give up until i LOVED the shoe .
ended up finding a perfect pair of shoes and three pairs of socks i’ve never tried before !
it’s a little pricey , but i’m on day two of these new shoes and socks and so much of my previous foot pain has been feeling better already .
this place isn’t just for super athletic people ( even though jen is incredible at running . she’s on the wall for a marathon ! ) . because i’m not a super athletic person , just on my feet a lot for work . and she was able to find me the perfect shoe
definitely recommend !!

By far my favorite run/walk shoe store. Before they opened I was going across the river for shoes. They are conveniently located for me. The staff is very knowledgeable on their product. Which as a former shoes sales person is what I look for. As long as I live in the area I will be buying shoes from here. Maybe one day I will join their social run/walks.

I recently decided to switch running stores, no real reason other than wanting a change. I heard a lot about RunWell and read a bunch of really good reviews, along with being the only running store in the St. Louis area to be awarded a Best Running Store 2024 award, so I gave them a try. Nice clean store, wide selection of running products, and very friendly and helpful staff. Their VIP reward program is excellent. I drive 30 minutes to get here, and well worth the trip. I definitely recommend this store for your running needs.

Got a gift card for Christmas. Went in a few weeks ago for the first time. Wasn't impressed at all. Hardly anything in stock, not much to choose from. Staff was attentive at first, then it was just chaotic. A tower of sneaker boxes put in front of me, but no real assistance. When I finally settled on sneakers I didn't really love, of course they didn't have them in stock in my size. Had to order. Was told I'd receive them in 7-10 business days. It's been almost 3 weeks. No order# or tracking on the receipt. At this point I'm wondering if they even placed the order. I called the store (got blown off) and emailed customer service a few times. Still waiting for someone to get back to me. At this point, nearly $150 later, I wish I could cancel the order and go to the New Balance store, which I prefer. Never had any issues there with service or sneakers.
Update: I called the store again. Apparently either FedEx or UPS lost the box. It's still unclear. I was going to find that out eventually, I guess? No tracking info obviously. So I just went ahead and canceled the order. Never again lol. 🙄
**ANOTHER UPDATE: Since writing this review, the shoes showed up at the store. They called to let me know and I went to pick them up today. The owner who responded to this comment, was very nice and gracious. She assisted me personally, and overcompensated to make good on the negative experience I had. I was very appreciative of that and have changed the star rating on this review. Unfortunately, the Altra shoes I received didn't work out. I wore them out of the store, and within a few minutes they were killing my feet. I couldn't wait to get home and take them off. After a few short errands after leaving Runwell, the backs of my ankles were raw. That has never happened to me with sneakers before. So, the search for decent sneakers continues.

Best place to grab running shoes. I also told them that I stand all day on concrete and asked if they could help, and they set me up with the best shoes I could ask for so my feet and legs aren't screaming at me by the end of the day.

Exemplary customer service. I didn’t have a single idea what I wanted out of a shoe before I came into this store. The sales people are great and evaluate your movement down to a science, explaining it simply so you can use that knowledge to make the proper selection. I had been buying too big of shoes for years not knowing that I needed a wide shoe instead of a size up.
These are truly sincere salespeople and they will take their time to show you everything you need to know, and will not rush you. I am personally not a runner but would recommend this shop to anybody who seeks comfort and confidence when buying the right shoe. Thank you again, I’ve never been this satisfied with a shoe purchase before

Wow! This place is amazing! They are thorough, patient, helpful, enthusiastic. I’m so glad I stopped in to get help choosing a running shoe instead of blindly buying something online. I can’t wait to go for a run in my new shoes!

Got shoes here 2 years ago that I hated and hurt my feet. Went back to give it a second chance. They looked at the shoes I got last time and still based it off those. The shoes I did not like. Didn't watch me walk/run. Only brought shoes out. Ended up buying shoes that were squishy and zero support . Returned shoes and won't go back.

I visited RunWell shoe/athletic store this weekend, as I’m starting a Couch to 5k and needed something better than plain “tennis shoes “ . They analyzed my walk and provided an exact fitting. They listened to my needs and didn’t try to upsell me into something completely unnecessary for my level. Store associate Caroline was very kind and really took the time to make sure I got into something perfect for me.
It’s no wonder this small business has been here in town for a decent amount of time. 10/10 recommend RunWell!

I came in today looking for running shoes and Caleb assisted me! He was very helpful in targeting all the problems I was having and made sure that I felt comfortable every step of the way.
