Dishonest, bait and switch pricing. Don't waste your time here - travel a little farther to Morton and buy from Lighthouse GMC.

This dealer practices a non-transparent "Bait and Switch" tactic. It's obscure at best and dishonest at worst.I wrongly assumed the dealer would have a reasonable documentation fee of maybe $200 but instead, it's $5000 in total for doc/ processing/ packages/ safety/ prep. Just a bunch of bogus fees.I looked online at a vehicle that was listed for $17,500 on Autotrader. After driving down to McGrath and looking at the vehicle in person, my daughter and I proceeded to purchase the vehicle, McGrath wrote up the paperwork and added $5000 in bogus fees!!! The breakdown was something like this:$2495 Protection Package (non-optional)$899 Inspection$499 Prep Fee$700 for Documentation (approx $350 of this would be legit plate and registration)$1000 Processing feeAnd no, I did not include taxes yet. That was still on top of this all.Very non-transparent and obscure "bait and switch" pricing. Is this normal? I'm looking at in invoice for the last car we bought from the used car dealer in DUNLAP 5 years ago. It had ONE SINGLE $50 DOC FEE.So, for total fee comparison, Dunlap dealer @ $50 vs McGrath @ $5000.Their rote responses of "our team cares about every detail, big or small!!" responses suggests they know exactly what they're doing with their deceptive pricing and that is the way they roll.

BUYER BEWARE of dishonest sales management.** UPDATE: After submitting the review I got a call from the GM. This call reenforced the perception of manipulative practices by refusing to work with me over the phone and trap me into stating I wasn't willing to work with them to resolve the issue by requiring me come into the dealership with my vehicle to even continue the conversation. Bottom line they sold a vehicle and let it leave the lot with a known safety issue that was agreed to be fixed per negotiations, that now they refuse to fix unless I pay for it. I suspect their current tactic is to get the vehicle in their shop then hold it hostage with "new safety" issues that prevent them from releasing it until fixed at my expense.Highly recommend read other reviews as there appears to be a pretty clear pattern of these practices. ** I purchased a used vehicle from McGrath Chevrolet in El Paso. Part of the agreement included repairing the front driver side balljoints. These had to be ordered and I was told to take the vehicle as is and they would call when the parts came in. After not hearing anything for a month I called to see status. This turned into many calls without call backs. Consistently told whoever I asked to talk to was with a customer and they would call me back, which 99% of the time they did not. They claim they don't show we agreed to that, even though my salesman states he remembers the issue and agreement. At this point he was removed from the conversation and told I have to talk to sales manager. Additionally, for awareness their pricing/marketing strategy includes listing low but having multiple "non-negotiable/required" up charges such as a glass coating. Which they pre-apply to the glass so can't take off. This is fine if you are just looking at final cost, but know that great deal on the web doesn't include these required up charges which add significant cost. Very dishonest management that does not fulfill terms of agreement.

I bought a 2016 Cedilac Escalete Platinum pk. when selling, they just pressured me to start the deal faster, sent some photos and videos during the rainy time. The car looked very clean. after a while I went to pick up the car from California to Chicago. Although they said that the car was made by a detailer, but I had to tell them again to clean the car. because it was not clean. Considering that the weather was rainy, nothing could be seen from the outside. after an hour away from them, I stopped in reset area. seeing the car in the sun saw the front bumper spray painted. when I called, I expressed my dissatisfaction with them about the fact that the car has problems that I did not notice when I bought it. they just started telling me stories. It is not very pleasant to buy from deceivers who simply try to sell their goods blindly deceiving the client. Be careful when buying a car from them, check everything slowly. and don't be fooled by sales pressure that another customer is coming to buy your car, we need to make a deal as quickly as possible. This just a bluff!!!

I traveled all the way from Alabama to Illinois to pick up my 2016 GMC Sierra Denali. Truck was as described and appeared to be in excellent shape. Transaction went smoothly and I was about to leave when I noticed a water leak at the front of the headliner. Originally thought it was the roof molding....so it was 3M glued it until I could get it home to get it replaced. Once home I had the roof molding replaced at my local Chevy dealer...but this did not eliminate the leak. After further diagnosis, the leak turned out to be the roof antenna (common issue on this model). Shared all this with the salesman Dylan Harmon, in order to be reimbursed as we had previously agreed to (verbally and in writing) and got nothing but the runaround. Escalated this to the gm, Skip Harmon, and he handled it immediately. Based on this I have to give the folks at Highway top marks!!!Overall grades:Dylan Harmon - FSkip Harmon - A+Highway Chevrolet - A
