As many of you already know, I am always on the go, all day, every day. Today, I stopped by the Aldi store on Summit St in Elgin. As I was about to pay, I noticed that a customer was having an issue. From what I heard, he wanted to buy corn, but they told him he couldn't purchase the ones he had. They said there was a limit. So, I took it upon myself to check, and at the corn display, there was no sign indicating any purchase limits.
What really made me angry was the arrogant way the employees spoke to the customer. Their arrogance made me think, "Do these fools not realize that without customers, they have no job?" I don't know what happened next because I decided to leave my items behind and go somewhere that values its customers.
If any of you witnessed this situation, leave a comment so these places learn to stop being disrespectful to their customers.
As many of you already know, I walk up and down every day at all hours, and today I stopped at the Aldi store on Summit St in Elgin, when I was about to pay I realized that a customer had a problem, so I heard he wanted to buy elotes and they told him that he could not buy the Elotes that he was carrying, they said that there was a limit and well, I took it upon myself to go check and in the place where the Elotes were there was no No specification about it being a limited product, but well what made me angry was the arrogant way the employees spoke to the customer, their arrogance made me think, don't these fools realize that without customers they don't have a job? And well, I didn't know what else happened, because I decided to leave the things I brought and go to another place where they value the client. This is about the third time that I’ve tried the curbside pickup at this location and every time I’ve done it, I’ve been waiting longer and longer. This most recent visit, I waited for about 30-40 minutes and didn’t receive any updates about the order.
When I first parked, I waited about ten minutes until another car pulled up beside me and was serviced within two minutes. The employee didn’t acknowledge my car or ask anything about other online orders: just walked right back inside.
About 25 minutes later, another car pulls up again and they are serviced in seconds with again, no issue or question to my car.
This is just so annoying. I can understand being short staffed, if that’s the case, but at this point, why did I even use curbside pickup - the more convenient and faster option - if it takes me longer to wait for the service than to go in and do the shopping myself?
The service inside is fine and the products are typically great, so I have no complaints about ALDI’s stuff itself, but this option of service really needs to be corrected for improvement.
*Note: I did try calling the store to see if I could speak to someone about my order and there is no technical number to contact so ALDI can focus on the providing maximum customer service.

I received the cold shoulder from staff when I inquired about a specific product. Not impressed.

Usually my trips to Aldi go well, although this has been the 2nd time something like this happens. I approached the checkout lane at around 7:20 PM. I had brought my own bags. I wish I would’ve found a quarter but unfortunately, my children find change in my car and will take it. As my cashier Jennifer was ringing me up, she was piling the items towards the end of the register. Mind you there were about three empty carts behind her but she refused (I believe in her mind) to stand up and get one. All my items were falling onto the floor. I asked her if I could get it in a cart that way I could pack up my items , and bring the cart back. She responded with, “if you are going to get this much stuff, you should’ve gotten a cart yourself.” A very nice lady overheard, and walked over and brought a cart. I had to ask for some of the food items to get voided since they had fallen onto the floor and I do not like to take bruised fruit back to the house. She was very rude, I told her I would pray for her because obviously she was having a bad day. And I know we all get those, so we can’t judge each other on that, but then she responded with “like I believe any of that.” I feel sorry for her and as promised, I will pray for her. I hope that corporate has a talk with their employees. Just because we don’t go in with a cart. Does not mean we have to unpack food items from our bags that lay on the belt and then have to re-pack. In hindsight, I had planned to make two trips from the store to my truck because I did need a lot of groceries. But after that experience, I was left with a sour taste in my mouth, and I felt it better to just leave it at that. I did speak to a manager only because that previous nice lady that had approached with a cart had told me that I should. I am writing this review, not to get anyone in trouble, but so that hopefully Aldi will use it to train their employees to be kinder.
