This is the absolute worst Walgreens pharmacy I have ever been to.They refuse to call patients when medications going to be delayed. They don't even update the system so you get automatic calls and yes my account is signed up for automatic calls the pharmacist has checked multiple times I do get calls when it's ready they are not doing this when my medication is delayed and this is a medication that I cannot come off of if it's not filled in time I do have to go to the ER and they know this I have given them over 6 months of chances and every single time they have made it an extreme headache for me and my doctor. Even my doctor who talks to 100s of pharmacies said this pharmacy is one of worst she's dealt with and she's never seen pharmacists be this uncooperative. The pharmacy manager is conveniently never around and you have to talk to the store manager who they are CONSTANTLY cycling through which just goes to show how horrible that store is to work for. Jewel osco is FAR FAR better. They actually treat you like a person and not a nuisance. I will never ever go back to this Walgreens or any other honestly. If you have chronic issues and need monthly refills that cannot be missed....DO NOT GO HERE.

It is like any other Walgreens one would expect. However, it is open till late, and that certainly helps...staff are ok.. and are ready to help out but not very friendly..

I truly wish I'd thought about coming to look at reviews before I asked my doctor in Virginia to transfer my prescription to this Walgreens while I'm here on vacation. These pharmacy workers are liars!! And the games that they're playing with people's health isn't good. They all need to be fired because in over a 24 hour timeframe I've spoken to people on different shifts for one prescription! My pharmacy in Virginia even went as far as faxing Walgreens the prescription. Called me a few hours later and told me they sent the fax. I waited 3 more hours and called Walgreens just for them to tell me that they didn't receive a fax this afternoon. It's evening now. And I've been calling back and forth since 8:30 am yesterday. I thought Walmart was terrible. But Walgreens in Elgin on Larkin is by far the worst pharmacy! Especially after reading the reviews. People stay away.. you're better off at Walmart!!

How is this pharmacy still in business? I’ve tried to give them so many chances, but they screw up nearly every time. Extremely slow service both inside and at the drive-through, lost prescriptions, rude staff…it’s endless. On multiple occasions they have told me a prescription is stocked out but they will order it. Then once the medication comes in, they fail to notify me the prescription has been filled and put it back on the shelf because I never showed. The word “inept” doesn’t even begin to cover it. Save yourself the headache and fill your prescriptions elsewhere.

We have been put on hold multiple times for hours to only be hung up on and having to strat over again. This is a common occurrence.

This is my favorite Walgreens. I've always found the customer service and managers to be friendly and helpful. I know people are writing in with complaints about the pharmacy, but from what I've read, it's not the fault of either the pharmacists or pharmacy staff. Sadly, the problem is at the corporate level when they're not hiring enough staff. Yet, it's been my understanding that Walgreens is making huge profits for their shareholders because apparently, it's all about Wall Street and not Main street and pharmacists, staff and managers take the hit.

This location has become extremely dangerous. We have now had multiple instances of unnecessary delays of extremely important medications. Fill prescriptions at your own risk. There's currently a conversation thread in the nextdoor ap discussing a chronic problem with people being given other patients' prescriptions. We have been loyal Walgreens patients for decades. No more.

Last month I had a script sent in and we called ahead of time to make sure it was in stock. I was told yes. Then I went to pickup and was told it wasn't ready but I was told it would be ready in 20 mins. Got there and was told it would be ready in 40 mins. Came back and was told 10 more mins then I was told they didn't have in stock???? But yet we called and checked because my dr was going out of town. So then I had to wait for them to get back in stock and that I had to wait because my dr was out of town and the script was not allowed to be sent any other way and or to another location. Then today I get a text saying scripts are ready I go to pickup to tell me it's not ready and won't be til tomorrow. DONT USE THIS PHARMACY ALWAYS SOMETHING. Staff is not nice as well. I was being nice and the front pharmacy tech was just rude and the pharmacist doesn't care I was trying to tell him what the issues are but he just treated me like I'm a pill popping junkie saying you should have enough for 2 days?? Ok that is not the issue here. The issue is I dont want to be told it will is ready and its not. I dont want to keep making 3 trips to grab my scripts. Every month its the same thing. I have a busy life i work 2 jobs and dont want to have to keep coming back 3 times a day. If they would have said it will be ready tomorrow then i would have just came tomorrow. !!! I didn't appreciate the care. None at all. They need a better staff and get their stuff together. You guys need to do better. I wasn't the only one upset about this issue 2 people in line were dealing with the same issue.

This walgreens used to be great. It has gone down the tubes.I'M SURE THIS IS MORE OF AN UNDERSTAFFING ISSUE than an employee issue, though some of the new people seem to be inadequately trained & out of their league.Cant talk to anyone to resolve problems. We resorted to calling at 12:30 a.m. to get some assistance and were hung up on before the issue was resolved. Waited on hold this morning 15 minutes at 7:45 issue not resolved and the employee said she had to go & hung up.More than once I was notified of scripts ready & only half my order could be found (piles of unsorted bags could be seen.Ughh - frustrating!

Sunday funday was completely destroyed when picking up medications for my sick mother. The pharmastic was completely rude and seemed not to care. Then I had to wait 2 hours for for 5 pills because they didn't have enough in stock. Then they did not bother to fill her second prescription which added another 30 mintutes. Worst experience very disappointing I have been going there for years but lately the service has been horrible. If you are sick and you need your medications right away I would not go to the larkin location.

The lady there put me on hold for 10 minutes, so long it started ringing again. She picks up the phone as if it was someone else calling and I told her I’m the person you put on hold and never got back to. She goes “ok one second”. Not even gunna apologize for forgetting about me on hold? The customer service here is horrendous and these “pharmacists” need to be trained.

Pharmacy experience here is terrible. Possibly understaffing, definitely a training issue. Have used Walgreens for years elsewhere - just moved to the area and will need to switch pharmacies.

My fiance has been using this pharmacy for over a year now due to its 24 hour status. I would say that is the only thing they have going for them. Except all it means is you will spend 24 hours of multiple days trying to get a prescription with false promise after false promise and a complete lack of accountability as the prescriptions are never filled, at least not when they are needed. If you know you're going to need something, I'd suggest getting it ordered at least a month in advance. It probably won't help. And they'll blame you for dropping the ball. Every, single, time. She recently had to switch pharmacies because of an insurance change. And the new pharmacy spent multiple days trying to get her prescriptions transferred with no success. Ultimately forcing us to go to this Walgreens in person to get the ball rolling. Which, my god, I had a root canal done recently and it felt good in comparison to dealing with this Walgreens. And due to their incompetence delaying a refill, she requested an emergency few day supply of a drug she depends on from this Walgreens and they said it could be picked up later that day. Fast forward one full day and it was not ready. Not only that, but the next pharmacist refused to give her the emergency refill she was promised. These actions, or lack there of, are borderline criminal. People's health and safety are in the hands of these pharmacists and they couldnt give one single sh!t. I hope they don't sleep well at night. That may be harsh, but these problems are not one offs. We've given them the benefit of the doubt time and time again. Being nice after witnessing them get yelled at by other infuriated patrons. But the time for forgiveness and kindness is long since passed. Avoid this Walgreens if at all possible.I wouldn't be surprised if their complete lack of competence is due to them using half their pills on themselves. Might explain why they can never fill any orders. If there are any, respectable and honest pharmacists reading this, open up a 24 hour pharmacy across the street. Simply do your job, and this Walgreens will go out of business in no time. Any other person doing their job as poorly as the pharmacists at this location would frankly be out of a job. This pharmacy should not be in business...

I understand that there are supply chain issues, but miscommunication or maybe outright lies are unacceptable. For 3 days I have tried to pick up a prescription and each day been told, it will be ready tomorrow. Tonight I called, was told it would be ready in 2 hours. I get there in 3 hours (gave them extra time); and sorry, we are out of stock. The staff listened to my frustration but can't even offer to do anything. I am seriously thinking of taking my business to another store.

The customer service at this location is excellent. Besides the greeting when you walk in, I came back after four hours and they recognized me. I had a problem with my earlier purchase and they were very accommodating. From the manager to the cashiers, they went out of their way to help me out. (Also, the pharmacy in the morning was so busy with vaccinations and yet everyone one of them wore a smile. )
