If I could give this office zero stars I would. Absolutely worst vet I've been to. My family put our 19 year old cat down and they waited until she was FULLY sedated to bring her out to be fully put down. It was 15 minutes she was in the back before they brought her back out to us and by then she was already gone. My dad had to knock on the door to figure out where she was because it was taking too long. When she came out she was basically gone. Her eyes were fully dilated and bulging out, her little tongue was sticking out on the side, and she was only 6 pounds so it didn't take much or long to get her sedated!!!! SHE WAS ALONE FOR HER LAST MOMENTS AND SHE DID NOT DESERVE THAT!!!!!!!!! They waited way too long for us to get our closure (that we didn't really get!) and say goodbye. It was not right for them the completely knock her out to the point she was already gone. The original practice was recently sold to these shmucks who do not care about animals and only care about the money. When we came to pick our baby's ashes up, the front desk literally said "here you go!" As if I was checking out at a store. No condolences, no compassion, nothing like the family practice it use to be. These idiots do not deserve to treat animals. We didn't even get a sympathy card!! We have had three dogs at this practice so we know what was deserving when they passed. I hope the precious vet techs and employees are doing well and have switched to a better office because they deserve better than to work under this management. Long story short, find a different vet. This practice does NOT deserve you and your precious babe's time, money, or care. There are plenty of great practices near by. My sisters' and I have switched over to other offices due to this nature. This office needs to be shut down. RIP to our baby girl who deserved so much better in her last few minutes.

Today was Bear's first visit at Oakton Animal Hospital. It's official!!! This is now his official vet. Previously went to big chain vets and I was really not satisfied but had very few choices. We moved to EGV and Bear will go to them will all his needs. Everyone was nice and caring. They did not seemed annoyed that we were there, they looked like the staff wanted to be there. They answered all my questions and concerns with the utmost care for Bear. They were truthful on what Bear needed and gave me a proper itemized procedures that needed to be done for surgery. Estimates was clear and concise. Explained the step by step procedure of what will happen next. If you're looking for a new vet, please come to Oakton Animal Hospital!

So happy to have found a great and safe veterinarian nearby to take both my cat and puppy. It had been awhile since I took my cat to a vet and usually we were in person but due to Covid, I had to send her in alone. She wasn't friendly but they were patient and still found a way to get her treatment in safely.

We love this place and honestly so does our dog. Dr. Glenn is great with us and all our animals and is clearly super knowledgeable without ever seeming condescending

I have used Dr Ephraim and his staff for years. They're wonderful with the animals they care for and I have complete confidence when I leave one of my animals there for a procedure or due to illness. Nothing but positive experiences at this facility. The cat that greets you when your enter the building is an added bonus!

We first fell in love with this place when we had our first dog put to sleep. Dr. Ephraim was so nice & considerate of our feelings that day. The process went smoothly & less traumatic esp to our son, so when we got another "baby" 2 months after, we didn't have any second thought but to come back to this place. Everybody's always been nice & accommodating that's why we recommended this place to our families & friends.

When I first adopted my cat Turbo he had diarrhea and never had normal stool when he went to the bathroom. I was taking to him another vet for months spending 100's of dollars and being told there was only one way to treat him. It wasn't working. I started researching vets in my area and found Oakton Animal Hospital. I emailed them and received a response back later that night. They even called to talk to me. They let me know there were other ways to treat this issue and they were very helpful. So I brought him there and never looked back. After my initial visit they called the next day and a week later to check on him. Took them one try to give me a medicine that cured him! I won't take my animals anywhere else! The staff is great and I trust them with all my animals! They know my whole family by name and even remember everything about all of our pets. They go above and beyond. It's a great environment and I would highly recommend them to everyone!

A really great practice with great Doctors and staff. They are kind, compassionate, and ready to help in urgent situations or regular visits. They don't try to oversell services or give you unrealistic expectations. Our kitties love everyone here!

I had to write a review after seeing a few of the other negative reviews. I have been going to this vet since 1983. I went there for the entire life span of two yorkies. They received exceptional loving care. When they passed away at 16 and 17 years old, Dr. Ephraim sent me beautiful flower arrangements along with a beautifully written sympathy card, that I still have and cherish. One of the dogs was put to sleep at Golf Rose Animal Hospital after an emergency admission on Christmas Eve. They must notify your regualar vet as I received a call the day after Christmas from Dr. Ephraim, very concerned asking what had happened because he was shocked and saddened. While I don't believe his care is directed by money, let's face it - it's a business. He's not a not-for-profit organization. If they don't make money the doors close. I would have given 5 stars but I've become more holistic over the years and with my subsequent 3 dogs - all living. The course of care I would like to pursue is often in disagreement with the care they think I should provide. I've become leary of so many vacinnations. Early spaying and neutering. Are these procedures really needed, really or is it driven by money. Are those vaccinations/early spaying and neutering harming our animals. I don't have the answers but it's those philosophical differences, and the pressure to do it their way that keep me from giving 5 stars. I've never found the care provided to be uncaring toward animals. I've also read the reason dogs don't like to enter vetrinary clinics is due to their heighted sense of smell. They can literally smell the fear inside. Who isn't nervous going to see a physician when you're ill? Do you expect animals to be any different?

Basing this review on my dog. She hated going here.. she would not even enter inside the building and she's too big to be carried so the staff would have to come outside to see her... so it's nice on the staff's part i guess... but when we took my dog to a new animal hospital she loooooved and still loves going there.. shes gets too excited to go there actually, so I do not know why my dog was reacting so badly to this animal hospital...

Dr. Glen is the best vet I have had the privilege to meet and have work on my animals. He is extremely thorough and informs you of all your options. Even if the options are pricey. He leaves it up to me to decide the level of treatment. I have had several dogs with him. One died due to seizures and the other is still with us. His bed side manner was great. He understands these animals are family. Reading the review that was stating the negative treatment and "talking over" of them is completely not the doctor I have been going to Oakton for over 3 years and my friends for over 20+ years. He is cost effective. If you want Banfield/Petsmart prices you get Banfield quality of work and treatment. If your looking for a vet to call home then stop here and call. Dr. Glen and his team are great! I have been to several vets in the area and am having Dr. Glen fix botched surgeries on my one pup tomorrow due to lack of skill, knowledge, and care at the vets I used prior. He is giving my pup the shot she deserves. Dr. Glen's care is truly 2nd to none. If I could give 10 stars I would.

Horrible experience! We got home one day to find our dog very unlike his usual hyperactive self, he was laying around and he wouldn't eat anything. We went to the Oakton hospital and the vet barged in and made our dog run outside, he said nothing was wrong with him. We knew something was though, so he said "to make you happy, I'll charge you 300 dollars for X-rays". He was constantly rude and mis-handling my dog, even while expressing pain. He also was very arrogant and showed no sympathy. We left and went to Rohlwing Road Animal Hospital with Dr. Culp who did some simple tactile examinations and found he had torn his ACL which needed anti inflammatory and possibly surgery. Luckily our dog gave himself physical therapy by walking. Anyway I would not recommend Oakton animal hospital! I later called to transfer the dogs file to Rohlwing hospital a they wouldn't do it, so I had to pick them up. I was extremely disappointed with Oakton animal hospital, my dog suffered longer than he should have because of them.
