Worst experience ever.
Not only did they give me a problematic car but they also didn’t do anything to help my situation. I called road side to pick up the rental they took hours to come get it. I was told I’ll get a replacement car the next morning from a location near… the location claimed they were sold out. When I called elmhurst location the manager said it’s out of his jurisdiction there’s nothing he can do. I still don’t have a rental two days later moral of the story is they’ll leave you stranded & don’t care about the situation. 0/10 don’t recommend.

Very disappointed with this location! I don’t wanna pull the race card but… I drove to this city mid-week for an event with my children and needed to drive back early Sunday morning to return my rental back home. The Check Engine light came on in the car. Corporate sent me to this location to get another vehicle. After explaining that I needed an suv, and after some back and forth, they ended up giving me a compact suv that was too small for me, my kids, and our luggage. It looked too small when they first gave it to me but I took it anyway, to try and fit us in. Didn’t work. I go back to this location and told them we couldn’t fit. As I sat in the waiting room, a woman walked in, stated she didn’t have a reservation, and wanted a minivan. They PROMPTLY pulled up the minivan and started getting her checked out!! I asked if I could get a minivan or one of the larger suvs that were clearly visible in the lot. I was told that spring break was next week so they would need those cars. Wait WHAT?! So I asked, “What am I supposed to do? Take back the car with the mechanical issue?!” He said, “yeah you could take it back”!!! I’m stranded in another city, single mom w/ 3 children, because your company gave me a faulty car and your response is you need the cars you have for the other ppl that may or may not come during spring break??! I could understand if the cars were reserved but that wasn’t the case because I literally saw a woman come in and get a minivan!! Only thing that came to mind was I was being given back the faulty car because I was Black. Because logically, I cannot see a reason why this would occur! Long story short, we got home safely. My home branch manager (who knows me very well because I rent cars from them so often!) was shocked when I told her the story. Praying this location gets it together because this is not how you treat people that are relying on your vehicles to transport precious cargo!

Reserved vehicle wasn't ready on time.
Available vehicle cost me additional $20/day.
Shorthanded staff was occupied with "problem people", and had no staff immediately available during the busy holiday season.
Especially during vehicle return, most companies verify fuel & mileage, collect the keys, and send customer on the way.

I was scammed by this location. I was lied to on what was covered by insurance and ran my credit card for an absurd amount. Please go anywhere else or hopefully you get a person that explains charges. First car I got smelled like weed so bad, I had to return it.

I called asking for a sedan and they said sure come in. When I came in they told me they have no sedans for me.
They also might try to scam you. I got charged with $35 for “missing” a single toll. Even when I have an EZ pass. Now I have to go through so much work to get this fee reversed. Thanks enterprise.

I needed a rental for a family outing. I made the reservation 2.5 weeks in advance. I rented a large suv that could seat 7 people. The day before the rental date I got a call for confirmation. When I went to pick up the rental they didn’t have a large suv available. They had a minivan available which I ended up taking and they dropped the price for my inconvenience but it was just frustrating since I made the reservation 2.5 weeks in advance.

The car was filthy. I had to clean the windshield so I could see out of it. There was a hole in the floor. I had to leave it outside during the day with the windows open as it smelled so bad.

Very disappointed with the Elmhurst, IL rental location. I had a reservation for over a week for a premium full size suv because I needed it for 8 passengers and a lot of luggage, but to my surprise when I was picking it up they tell me they have none available at that location nor anywhere nearby. The day before picking it up I was called by them to confirm the rental for the next day which I confirmed and they told me I would be all set for the next day with my rental. I understand that sometimes it doesn't work out but to not give me any warning beforehand so I can at least start looking elsewhere ,that was my big disappointment with them.

my dissatisfaction with the rental service provided by Enterprise on this place. As a loyal customer, I have encountered several issues that need urgent attention.
Online Reservations vs. Actual Cars Received:
On multiple occasions, I have rented cars online based on specific models or features, only to receive something entirely different upon pickup.
This discrepancy between the advertised vehicle and the actual one provided is both frustrating and misleading.
Premium Car Misrepresentation:
Enterprise often labels certain cars as “premium” when, in reality, they do not meet the expected standards for such a category.
Customers deserve transparency and accurate information about the vehicles they are renting.
Inconsistent Standards Across Locations:
Representatives at different Enterprise locations seem to have varying criteria for assessing damage to rental cars.
This inconsistency creates confusion and frustration for customers who receive conflicting information.
Hidden Fees and Charges:
I believe that fees for loss of use, diminished value, and administration should be included in the overall cost of doing business.
Separating these fees feels deceptive and unfair to customers.
Resolution Request: I kindly request that Enterprise address these issues promptly:
Ensure that online reservations accurately reflect the cars provided.
Review the labeling of “premium” cars to avoid misrepresentation.
Establish consistent damage assessment standards across all locations.
Be transparent about fees and charges.
If these concerns are not addressed satisfactorily, I may consider taking my business elsewhere.
Thank you for your attention to this matter. I hope Enterprise will take steps to improve its service and provide a better experience for its customers.

If I can give 0 starts that would be a better rating,
With or without reservations they have no vehicles available. Customer service is terrible. After coming back to pick up the vehicle. The vehicle was dirty, and smelly. I mentioned the issue to the representative and they just said that’s all they had and send me home.

We reserved a car one week ago and when we came here they said they don’t have any vehicles it’s the second place from this company. I feel this rent company is a scum. I’ll never work with them.
