We took our dog to the From Scared to Prepared class as she barks at other dogs and people she doesn't know. The instructor, Brianne, was very knowledgeable and helpful. We received a lot of good information and techniques from her and these have already helped our dog. Highly recommend this class and the instructor Brianne.

Having an Awful Adolescent with too much energy and not enough focus, I took Liz's Awfully Adolescent class. Thanks to the class I now do more than just manage Zippy. I have a better understanding of adolescent behavior, and I work with him to make training fun with much less frustration. I came away with a solid foundation and lots of ideas of how to keep him engaged and focused while helping him learn to make good decisions. While Zippy and I have a ways to go, we are finally partners in training.

From Little Jerk to Good Boy.....I found myself saying “UGH, my dog is such a jerk when…” This is why we took Awfully Adolescent class at For Your K9. The class was a balance of easy to learn and practice training games along with understanding the short and long term of building the skills. The small class size allowed for an adaptive structure to best support the needs of the students. Each week the instructor (Liz) worked to listen and watch the person and dog interactions to give feedback and guidance. I now have tools we can use to help my dog be a Good Boy more of the time.

Awfully Adolescents was the absolute best bridge between puppy class and further obedience and sports! Liz really took the time to get to know our individual dogs and concerns and tailored our activities, homework, and class time accordingly. The class was more about helping our dogs through the rough times when their “thinking brains” are harder to access rather than straight up obedience, and Liz gave us a bunch of ways to build muscle memory in our dogs so they have good instincts and behaviors to fall back on when they get stressed. It’s such a perfect environment for our little “teenagers”, I can not recommend the class enough! Seriously, whether you’re currently struggling or just looking for where to go after finishing puppy class, Awfully Adolescents is the perfect class!

Highly recommend this school. We have taken a number of diffrent classes here. Most recently we have been in the Scared to prepared class with Bri. This is an advanced level course and has been useful with making our dog more comfortable around people. Bri has been very patient and creative in helping us navigate our rescue pups issues. The best part is our dog loves going there so its fun for everyone.

I fell in love with what may be the most affectionate and most reactive dog to ever walk the earth. Six months into our love affair we had gone through five trainers and made zero progress. Not all the trainers were bad trainers, but all wanted to focus on obedience and ignore the much more difficult and pressing issue of helping Luna(tic) and I work through her reactivity. At this point no in time no one dared entering our house and walking her was something I would only do between the hours of midnight and 4 AM. Finally, Dr Serpico, Luna's veterinarian recommended that we try For Your K9. He had heard that Nancy had a staff member who specialized in behavior. That person was Liz Venderhoef.After an evaluation Liz recommended a couple of private lessons where Luna received Liz's full attention, made more observations and recommendations of actions I could take to reduce the number or level of Luna's "spells", Then, much to my surprise, she invited us to enroll in a group Reactive Dog Class.We have now completed two rounds of Reactive Dog and one or two additional private sessions. This was not done in one big gulp but over the course of six months. It has been s-l-o-w going but the results have been phenomenal.We are no longer the loudest dog in the room, I don't cringe (as much) every time we meet another dog on the street, Luna has made several human friends who are very welcome in our home and is working on two canine friends and on those occasions when she does react it is not as intense and experience and she recovers quickly. WE have a long way to go but we will continue here because Liz has been the only trainer who has recognized Luna's point of view. I think this last point is key; Liz has always had a great rapport with Luna, her real student was me and the lesson I need is to see how Luna views situations and events. I can't thank Liz enough for her patience and guidance. Luna is a hundred times less stressed. Just imagining how hard all that stress must have felt to her and now to see her level lowered so makes me even more grateful!If we could give Liz 100 Stars it wouldn't be enough.

If you want a class on how to feed your dogs treats this is for you! I was so unhappy here I was willing to throw away the last 3 classes total waste of time!

Wonderful place for puppies. I take my dog to puppy socialization classes and puppy training classes. I love the trainers and he has a blast every time he goes.

Great people, they do really care about dogs and, above all, dogs’ health. Let me add, not only dogs but also mouses’ one. We had fun, we enjoyed doing sports and we loved spent time with the trainers. Highly recommended!

Very knowledgeable staff, that provides information that you don't find on basic internet tutorials.They also accommodated our very energetic, at at times aggressive pup, with proper seperating and room to get some anxiety out!Affordable, yet effective training.

A wonderful place for training. The instructors are experienced and great with the people and dogs. Train, train, and more training. Great place. We will use them again without hesitation.
