It's a good store overall. I always have a hard time finding xl dog treats. Also the treat bar has gotten so expensive! 10.00 a lb is so outrageous. You would definitely sell more and have the same average price if you lowered it back down to 5.99 a lb again. I don't understand why corporate stores have to be so greedy.

This place has no compassion. Gave me one quote then the morning of surgery changed it and charged me over $150 more. At the last minute was told I needed blood work so I took the day off since their only apportionment was in the middle of the day only to be told once I was there it was not needed. I asked for a medical clearance and it was nearly impossible to get. Priscilla who said was the acting manager and Jackson were not willing to help me if anything made the experience more traumatic. I wished I had read the reviews before I took my fur baby there.

The girl who claims to be a manager and in charge of the fish aria is racist, she treats people badly, the fish are hers

Beware! Read till the end before booking a grooming here! I book on the app every time I go to the groomer here because they have a very convenient platform and I like that it’s buy 7 get 1 free. However, every time I go in they ask how I want my dogs hair cut, I say whatever it was last time. They never have the last time on file, and say it created me a new account. Even though I book through the app under the same login every time. I’ve called customer service and have spent a collective 3 hours on hold while they try and figure it out. They’ve never been able to figure it out or merge the accounts so I’ve never gotten a free groom. I’ve waited on call backs from supervisors, I’ve never gotten one, all I’ve gotten is a call saying, we are sorry, we don’t know why this is occurring and there is nothing we can do. So that’s annoying but not end of the world.
What’s HEARTBREAKING is, the last time my dog was there he came back to us TERRIFIED. I cannot stand over him without him cowering and flinching. He is shaking all the time now. He is not himself at all. He has had many grooms before and has never had an issue. He is refusing to go on walks now when he used to love them, it is absolutely heartbreaking. Something clearly happened to him there as he is never out of our sight and has not been left since. My husband works from home, we have no kids and no other pets so nothing else could possibly have caused this and it was super apparent the second I picked him up that he was not okay. The lady who did his grooming was rude to me when I dropped him off and when I picked him up. It was very evident that she hated her job. It just absolutely breaks my heart that she would treat my poor baby bad. It’s been a few days now and there’s still no shift in his behavior. He’s only 11 months old and 8 pounds. Praying he will be better soon. We Will NEVER be back or buy anything from Petco again.

I want to be clear that this review isn’t about store policy. It’s about the rude, arrogant, and dismissive way I was treated by a particular employee who showed zero compassion for my situation.
I visited to purchase Just Food for Dogs today because I’d forgotten mine at home and am visiting my family to watch the election. I’ve bought it here before without a prescription (photo attached), so I assumed there wouldn’t be an issue. The staff person at the counter politely explained that I needed a prescription, though it was confusing since it’s just fresh dog food I could make at home. I was wondering if maybe this had medication and there was a different one that word work as an alternative since I had bought the same thing here before without an issue. She tried her best to clarify but eventually called over another employee from the shelves for assistance.
This second worker was a younger girl who did not appear she wanted be there. She made it instantly clear that she was annoyed at being interrupted. Her attitude was shockingly unprofessional. Her tone and expression was short, bratty, and visibly irritated by having to help. When I asked if there was any alternative food I could buy, she simply replied ‘no’ in the most dismissive tone, making it clear she had no interest in helping and immediately went back to stocking shelves. There was no attempt at an explaination, to offer options, or show any sympathy for my situation. Simply that I would need a prescription. It felt like I was a nuisance, not a customer.
I still had the old pictured bag I previously bought without a problem. I wanted a fresh bag because I assumed the bag I bought was expired. When I thought of this, I went back to ask how long these last and if it would be OK to just use that. Unfortunately, this same employee was the only one available. As soon as I started to ask, she gave me a look of pure exasperation, as though I was wasting her time with a trivial question. Her response was condescending and snotty: 'The expiration date is right on the bag,' as if it was absurd I couldn’t find it myself. When I explained I couldn’t locate it on my bag, she sighed loudly, grabbed a bag off the shelf, and pointed it out in a way that was deliberately demeaning, as if to say, ‘How could you miss this?’
At this point, I told her I was upset and that I’d be writing a review. Her response was to double down on her arrogance. She assumed I meant because of the store policiy, not because of her treatment. She went wide-eyed and defensively replied, 'A prescription for a dog is like a prescription for a human. We can’t break the law.' Then, in a sarcastic, insincere tone, she said, 'Well, I’m very sorry I wasn’t able to help you today,' clearly meaning the exact opposite.
I left feeling disrespected and frustrated by her complete lack of compassion and professionalism. I beleive my situation was reasonable. I came in looking for assistance with my dog’s food, and instead, I was met with open disdain. Her attitude and behavior were not only unhelpful but deeply disrespectful to my situation.

I called on the phone to get a nail grinding they say that is a walk in service. I walked in yesterday. They say I need an appointment and rabie shots for my dog. Understandable so I get the shot for him. I go back and they say I need 24 hrs after taking short. Then the lady says I should not need an appointment on a weekday. I went back and they say they are too busy I need an appointment, then the lady turns her back and goes to the room where she is grooming other dogs. Very rude and don't advertise as walk in if you can't handle it. Stop telling people who call in to make an appointment that they can walk in.

I was told my puppy wiggled too much for grooming after I left and was asked after 5 minutes to return for pickup.

I recently brought my dog in for grooming, and unfortunately, it’s the worst haircut I've ever seen. I have wedding events coming up, and now my dog looks like he was rescued from the streets after a long struggle. His hair is uneven, and they didn’t even get his face right. If there’s one positive, it’s that his tail looks nice. However, the groomer, Reyna, had a terrible attitude, which only made the experience worse. After her poor conduct, she even banned my dog from future grooms, which is wild considering the four previous grooms before her were issue-free.
Reyna has groomed my dog twice. The first time, he came home with cuts all over, but I gave her the benefit of the doubt, thinking she struggled with knots. The manager was involved during the first visit because Reyna was rude to my elderly mother. Despite that, I tried to be polite the second time I brought my dog in. When I picked him up, I simply asked if she was able to do his nails, and she snapped at me, asking if I was going to "keep getting him groomed there." Even though the job and her behavior didn’t deserve it, I still left a tip. Reyna should not be working in a customer-facing role, let alone with animals.
Given the cuts my dog sustained during the first visit, it’s no wonder he wouldn’t stay still for her the second time. I deserve a full refund, and Reyna needs to reconsider her career. It’s concerning that Petco has faced previous lawsuits for animal abuse—perhaps better vetting of applicants is needed instead of hiring unqualified, disgruntled individuals. A $3,000 dog shouldn’t look like a stray.
