I am in the process of selling the stock in my company to two nurses. Because all the payors use the business checking account for ACH payments, the new owners wanted to include the bank account in the transaction which makes sense.
Mira from the Elmhurst location said all the needed to be done was for the new owners and I to come in with photo IDs and one other form of identification. We would remove my signature, add theirs, and the transaction would close.
Mira then called and said her "Legal" department wanted to see the contract. I provided the fully executed contract as requested. Mira said she would get back to me, but she never did. More than a week later she responded to an email requesting status. She said her "Legal" wanted a letter. I asked what should be on the letter. She said she couldn't answer that. I asked who the letter should be addressed to, she said that she couldn't answer that.
Mira rudely kept interrupting me when I was trying to make a point, and she did not listen. I asked for her manager to call me.
Amanda did call and leave a voicemail. I returned the call but did not hear back from her. I called the Wells Fargo executive escalation department, and reached Justin. Justin was able to add Amanda on the call. I asked the same questions of Amanda. Who should the letter be addressed to, she could not answer. I asked what should be in the letter, she said she could not answer that question as it would be advice.
So I am being asked to provide a letter, not knowing the content, not knowing who to send it to, and not knowing the purpose. Wells Fargo has the entire contract that names the buyers and seller, the corporation name, the details of the transaction and terms. Without this, Wells Fargo will and is, holding up the sale.
Amanda was equally rude and cut me off at while I was trying to make a point or present information. She was equally rude, and also hung up on me.
Very simply, Wells Fargo is not small business friendly and they make demands without providing any reasons.

They never gave me my drivers license back and almost didn’t give it to me when I came back for it 5 minutes after close, claiming I had to sign a form.. which they never made me sign. Just took my debit card and made me wait outside for 10 minutes… I’m gunna find out if this form I was suppose to sign is a real thing and calling corporate. Completely unprofessional.

The two stars are for Rudy who was my banker and did his best to help me. I was trying to close an account of my moms who recently past away. The people in "the back office " made that as difficult as possible. It took 3 trips to Elmhurst until I finally said I'm not leaving without the check. This is the worst bank I have ever dealt with. I recommend to stay away.

One of the tellers at this branch told me that I had to make an appointment to close my savings accounts, and that I "couldn't just walk in" and do so. I spoke to a different rep, who was able to help me within minutes. Not really sure what the problem was, but it definitely reinforced my decision to take my business elsewhere.

Not sure what’s up with the low ratings. This place is actually pretty good and fast.
