If I could leave negative stars I would. I moved to Southern Illinois in this past May and got service with Shawnee after a good recommendation. Had no trouble until last weekend when area wide services went out. I have been without service 4 days and counting now, with ZERO communications from the company!! Any company can experience an outage for a few hours from time to time, especially in bad weather (which there has been NONE), but this is different. They have completely abandoned customers, are not answering calls, are not allowing comments on most of their Facebook posts, aren’t addressing the comments from customers that ARE on their Facebook, are not responding to emails (something they say they will do), aren’t returning voicemails, are giving no ETAs, and are not properly managing their customer base overall. One of their few communications earlier this week stated they would contact their customers who still had an outage, but as one of those customer, I’m still waiting for that contact days later and I can not reach them. I have done everything possible short of driving the hour to their office. I am BEYOND FRUSTRATED and with no end in sight and no useful information from them, I’m finally searching for a new provider. AVOID THIS COMPANY IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A NEW COMPANY! WORST CUSTOMER SUPPORT IVE SEEN IN OVER 20 YEARS AS AN ADULT!!!

Wifi has been out for almost four days now. They still don't have an ETA yet so we don't know when we're gonna actually get what we pay for. Shawnee Comms doesn't care much about their customers. They ignore calls, emails, and even go as far as to disable comments on their Facebook page. They charge insane prices and throttle your internet speed because they have a monopoly in the southern Illinois area. If you live somewhere where you can have another provider, do so immediately. I've never seen a million dollar company go into hiding like this. I don't even know what I'm paying for at this point. Absolutely pathetic and disgraceful

I generally am satisfied. But we've been without Internet for 3 days now, and we have things we have to do. Could you please put out messages to everyone's cell phone, or something to let us know what's going on, besides a recording that says you're aware of the problem, or there is no estimated time when the problem will be fixed. We, the customers, at least are owed that.

My husband and I were completely satisfied with the entire process of switching to Shawnee Communications. The tech (Wade I believe his name was) was very knowledgeable and courteous. The staff that got us all set up over the phone/ email were equally as courteous. I highly recommend this company!! We live somewhere where you don't have many options for Internet but the signal is impeccable now!!

I am extremely disappointed in the response from Shawnee Communications and their inability to connect our house to the fiber line. They have run fiber down our road and continually told us they would install fiber to our house soon. It has now been over 2 years and they have still yet to produce giving various excuses every time we ask.

Realized speeds for their fiber are awful. I forget if I pay for 300 or 500 Mbps since I maybe see 100 on a good day. If other ISPs were available I would switch. I am left feeling taken advantage of and their support staff were worthless. Their front desk and install folks were great, however. I do not need the fastest service, but it is sad when streaming services "auto-select" down to 720p. Anything over 1080 needs to be given time to buffer. Any live services like a game or teleconference struggle with image quality and have pretty bad response times typically over 100 ms causing lag. It's miles from great, but I have had worse.

Had good service for a while. But going on two years, and the never came back to fix my yard. And quit pushing your app on me.I'm old school and like to call and make payments. But excellent internet.

Every worker in all three phases of the installation process provided excellent and friendly service. We appreciate B.J. and Lucas patiently answering all our questions getting us set up inside. We highly recommend Shawnee Communications for your Internet needs!

Every person I spoke with from Shawnee Communications has been pleasant and helpful. From the first day I called to apply for internet to the Day the technician arrived, I received top notch care. The technician was kind, knowledgeable and helpful. I wish more businesses today were like Shawnee.
