“Last week, coming back to Texas from Indianapolis, I noticed my battery light came on. The battery indicator needle went from mid level to low rather fast. Being a new battery, my first thought was alternator. I had my wife search online for the nearest AutoZone and continued to the location, as everything electrical slowly began shutting down. We had gone through a barrage of heavy rain and we hoped it would let up. By the time we arrived, a/c, lights, radio and all gauges had shut down as I hoped the engine wouldn't die too.
We were greeted at store 2685 by Westyn and Larry, the manager. After verifying the correct replacement, Larry loaned me the tools I needed to replace the alternator and Westyn proceeded outside, in a light rain, to assist me. We are forever grateful for their assistance and professionalism. They were patient and very knowledgeable regarding the replacement part and the tools needed. Our detour through Fairfield Illinois showed us that there are still places in our awesome country that value honesty, hard work and selflessness.
