I like this location, they’re mostly in stock, the employees are friendly, but I’m very frustrated that the self checkout is never open. While there was not a large line and I only had to wait a few minutes, I could have been in and out had the self checkout been running. Why is it there if they aren’t going to open it anymore.

I was verbally assaulted by an employee at the Dollar General store on Lincoln Trail in Fairview Heights, IL. He screamed and yelled at me for no rational reason. The manager on duty told me that the employee had been acting out all day. When I called and left a complaint about him at their corporate office, I was told, by a representative, that I would receive a call from the district manager about the incident. No one ever called me! I guess Dollar General doesn't care about their customers. I will NEVER step foot inside of any of their stores again!

The manager will spend up to an hour in line with her friend while she is working. They have quite the scam going on. She will take up a register for at least an hour 10 to 15 people in line. The place is nasty dirty. Dollar General corp. must be blind or doesn't care sad.

This is by far the worst and most disgusting dollar general in the state of Illinois. Needs new management the Caucasian manger with tattoos who worked today Tuesday, July 30 2024 at 2:00 pm has a complete disregard of any of the policies. He stated the “policy” and once I explained a solution to his laziness he stated he’s the manger and that’s how things go I will be calling corporate because I believe he is one of the many reason this store is failing.

Tonight (6/11/24), I bought a set of dinner trays with lids from this DG. Unfortunately, my husband called when Eric (I'm assuming the mgr) scanned them, and I missed seeing the price they rang up. (From 6/7-6/13, purple dot Home is 50% off.) After the sale was completed, I looked at the receipt...full price. I apologized and brought it to Eric's attention before I stepped away from the counter. He looked at the receipt, scowled, then took nearly 7 minutes to refund, rescan, and discount the price. The entire time, he never spoke, apologized, or even smiled. When he finally finished the 2nd transaction, I apologized again for being so much trouble and then left. I understand not all discounts may be keyed into the system like they should. I also understand long days at work. However, if you take a position in customer service, please brush up on your manners and attitude before clocking in for your shift. Eric, do MUCH better!

Always empty the manger is very rude and mean. Skip this store trust me go to the one on 159 south of town way better

Used to buy Coke products here regularly. Last month 2 liter bottles were 2 for $5. Last week 2 for $5.50. Today, $3/each. If I want to pay regular prices, I'll go somewhere that regularly cleans the store and mops their floors and does not leave the aisles cluttered creating a fire hazard.

I have to say, the male employee was super nice & helpful on 2-17-24 in the evening. The Store was clean & organized, such a big difference from the Belleville location on Idler Rd. Which I will never go back to, due to very rude employees, not helpful, empty shelves or isles constantly blocked by products.

I like shopping here but I hate when the older white lady thin with sandy brown hair check me out. She doesn't smile she looks like she's been sucking on lemons if you have coupons and they don't attach she just says do you want it or not. Unlike the other women who try to help you. Some people just need to stock and not be the face of DG.

The short lady with black hair is a bully. The way she spoke to and treated the other employees was absolutely disgusting. She was extremely inappropriate and unprofessional.

Rude lady works there. She yells at customers and acts like it's a problem just for her to ring up your items. I'm done going to this location after today. I was trying to enter my telephone number on the keypad so I could use my digital coupons and she exited out of it before I could finish. No one was able to use their digital coupons today bc I guess she didn't feel like it.

I hate to have to change my review of this store but it seems this location is also a victim of nobody wanting to work or the employees are victim to dollar general deceptive business practices or poor treatment of their employees. Nonetheless I went tonight to get food for my cat and as soon as I walk in the door I see a rather large woman with no pants or shorts on. I wish I could say I am joking but I am not. I approached an employee and asked him if there is a rule that you have to wear some kind of pants in the store... His reply was "what is your definition of pants??" Shorts?? I knew the conversation wasn't going to go anywhere so I finished my shopping and went to the checkout where I asked this employee the same question... He stood there nervously silent. I asked him, "Didn't your mom teach you that it's not appropriate to go to the store in your underwear?, if I was doing that I would have been asked to leave." He really said, "yes you would." The moral of the story is I am glad my daughter wasn't with me and God help us, now people go to the store in their underwear.
