So i used to go to this location for their sandwiches in the freezer area as it was walking distance from my job i had recently started at the time. Customer service used to be great there. I guess Covid killed off the staff as after a while i only saw the same two people working in the day time hours. Well, one day i came in for my usual sandwich purchase and there was this older white lady checking everyone out and i was on my 15 minute break. She expedititously checked out everyone in front of me amd when i got to the counter with my one item, she said " ill be back" and walked away. My 15 minute break had already expired and at this point i left the sandwich at the register and left. I just door dashed some Wendy's. My superiors were very understanding about me getting back to my job late as they had experienced similar there.Then, at the other Dollar Tree near the Post office in Fairview Heights, me and my girl friend had just joined the line to check out and had came in to simply buy a soda to drink and the black lady with dreads at the register just kept staring us down like we didnt belong in the store.There was a long line and we were at the end. We had literally came from America's Best Eyeglasses getting our eyes examined and were thirsty because it took an hour for our exams to be finished. We left our drinks at the spot we were at and walked out.I no longer go into any Dollar Tree locations because of the terrible customer service. With the talk of someday human help being replaced by robots and self check outs, it doesnt sound too bad when i think about my experiences. Its sad, people always complain about making money, but fail to realize people are the ultimate resource.People need to understandthat word, "dignity." Otherwise, here soon, a lot of people will be wondering where their next pay check is coming from.Nobody wants to feel like a stranger or discouraged from shopping for any reason. Flat out. With that said,ill stick to door dash and instacart. And avoid the issue altogether.One more thing....there was a older guy that mustve been a manager at the Dollar Tree near Best Buy. After i left the Dollar Tree, he circled the parking lot in his vehicle near my job and decided to snap a picture of me. To him i say: snap a picture of your check stub and job title while you're at it; it'll last longer!

I love Dollar Tree. Just not this location. I will drive across town rather than go into this one. It's very messy and not well stocked. One bright spot--Cashiers are nice though.
