My husband bought our wedding ring from the Alton, IL JCP, on 5/26/25. I got it sized, which took a couple of weeks. We were in fairview for dinner plans to show my family the ring, and decided to get it cleaned at JCP in Fairview Heights, IL. HUGE MISTAKE!! I'm completely heartbroken. They ruined my wedding ring. It has scratches all over the bands. I haven't even had it a full week and it's completely trashed! You would think when you buy the care package with your ring that would mean your wedding ring is in good hands. Now the company won't replace my ring unless we buy another $200 care package because I got my ring sized?!?! Do not buy your wedding ring from JCP because when they damage it, they won't fix it.

EXCEPTIONAL service provided by Sales Associate 0371 of Store 1443, on 31 Dec 2024 at 4:06pm. We found a better price online for a JCP in-store product. Associate 0371 offered to place the online order at the register thereby enabling us to qualify for the cheaper online price. It was clear she was an experienced employee with an exceptional customer focused attitude---well qualified in our estimation for advancement within the store system.

There's Avery rude employee in the curbside customer service area first off he acted liked he didn't want to wait on me even though I was the only person in line his tune was so rude thought my entire time at the desk please train your employees on customer service and that man with the mask on with the bad attitude definitely needs training in customer service he's horrible November 13, 3024 at 4:10 pm

Ashley was very helpful, professional, and kind during my shopping experience today! Prior to today, I had only shopped at JC Penney one other time. With great staff members there like Ashley and lots of awesome sales going on, I will definitely be back!

The JCP section of the mall is filthy, items are missed labeled. Bad customer service and unnecessary mean spirited comments from Red haired woman sales associate at checkout. Just go somewhere else. Macy’s or Kohls is a much better option. Even the discounts weren’t worth it.

Today Saturday February 17th 2024 3:30pm. We wenthrough Jc Penny on our way out of the mall in Fairview Heights IL, just to do some last minute browsing on the way back to our car. Walking through we went to the mens clothing section on the lower level and saw all the clearenced items. We came across the racks in the center of the isle on the way up to the checkout counter / exit of JC Penny and saw they had mens jackets on clearence and marked down to $49.95. There was a big sign on the rack that even said $49.95, when we went to buy 2 of the jackets we were told we had to pay the sticker price on one of the jackets for $75. JC Penny tried the old bait and switch sales tactic, and no matter what the sale sign said, would not honor it. This is poor customer service. If you have items on a clearance section with a big sign that says $49.95, you should honor it. So we put it back, and bought just the 1 jacket. It was a mens wrangler jacket they had marked down. So either you need to get people to mark stuff correctly or at least honor what your consumer is telling and showing you. That's bad business. I have been a long time shopper there but think I'll stick the basement sales at Macy's. They have never given an issue.

I still like to shop for shoes and clothes at a brick and mortar store. I just bought a pair of dress shoes and a suit. Was able to try them on and get a thumbs up from my wife. Good prices and great selection.

The store was clean. Associates were not helpful at all. We couldn't find anyone in mens clothing or housewares to help with questions. I was disappointed in the overall level of service.
