“I was 10 mins out on my 1 hour commute to work on a Friday evening, and my car starting bumping, and my check engine light came on. OMG I had a 3 night work weekend at the hospital ahead of me and this comes up now! What am I going to do??? It was 5:03 pm. On the chance that Ken might still be there at LG Auto, I called, and he answered. I explained my dilemma, and he went above the call of duty and helped me out. He waited 10 mins for me to slowly bump my way to the shop. He gave me a loaner car (free) to use until my car got evaluated and fixed on Monday. My repair bill was $316 and I was on my way, problem free. LG auto is absolutely the best place I've ever taken my car. The service is personalized and exceptional.”

“The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and down to earth. Can't can't afford all the repairs at one time? They'll give you a report of their inspection and prioritize which repairs or replacements need to occur, based on your budget. They'll be frank about repairs that may not have to be done immediately, and recommend when indeed your vehicle should return.I started out as a customer of the Gages Lake shop, at the time residing down the street from The Gages Lake road garage. As I have since moved further north, I now visit their Lake Villa shop; once again, thankfully being a short walk away.That said, even if I were 50 mi away I would still prefer to bring my vehicles here... They're trustworthy, competent, and practical. Heck, at both shops there have been occasions when they found less expensive ways to fix an issue and subsequently charged me LESS than their original quote... Passing on the savings to me.”

“Great honest mechanic! Very affordable, my car is always ready faster than I expect, and they never try to upsell me things I don’t need. A couple years ago they replaced my cracked drive shaft and worked directly with my insurance adjuster so all I had to do was drop my car off, pay the bill, and wait for Progressive to reimburse me for everything minus the deductible. I’ve been a fan of John’s ever since!”

“My boyfriend sent me here about 2 years ago for an oil change and this is the only place I will take my car since that first time. If i stop by without an appointment I expect to wait (no worries since I didnt make an appointment) but they are always quick and have me done in no time! Their staff is so kind. “Had an issue with my brakes on a Sunday so we called here since it was one of only a couple places open. We were told they couldn't guarantee they’d be able to look at it until Wednesday bc they were so busy but if we were able to drop it off they could check it out if they ended up having any downtime. Got a call Monday morning telling me what the problem was & how much it would be to fix it. I was able to pick up my car by Monday afternoon! They also had vacuumed the inside which was much appreciated. I will be bringing my car here for any maintenance from now on!”

“There's a lot of oil change shops and tire shops between me an Lube Plus (approx 20 mins away from me). I have been using Lube Plus since 2004 when they were in Crystal Lake. I have known Ryan for a bit over a decade. I pass lots of shops on the way there but there's only one place I will take my cars and that's Lube Plus. They showed me the issues while the car was up cause I'm a visual person. I needed a bunch of stuff done to my car but have a trip coming up. They showed me which ones to prioritize and which ones can wait till we get back. Very good place to get your car looked at.”
