Timeline of Events
8/11/25 – Traveled from Indiana to purchase vehicle. The catalytic converter failed within 5 miles of getting it home. I called Zain immediately, and he arranged for us to drive it to a mechanic in Orland Park (40+ miles away).
8/19/25 – Picked up vehicle in Orland Park after catalytic converter replacement. Drove home without issue. Within 30 minutes of arriving home, the car struggled to start, sounded horrible, and check engine light came on. Took it to AutoZone: codes pulled. I replaced the canister purge valve and MAF sensor (receipts provided). Also discovered a small oil leak.
8/20/25 – Spoke with Zain about ongoing issues. He stated there was nothing more he could do since the car was sold “as is.” He did not offer further help and said it was unfair that I left a 1-star review. Additional codes pulled showed fuel/air intake and turbo underboost issues, along with an oil leak. Scheduled appointment with a local mechanic.
8/26/25 – Took vehicle to my mechanic:
• Spark plugs replaced
• Oil changed
• Turbo is leaking and will need full replacement soon; loose pipe causing the oil leak
• Seal putty discovered on the exhaust — a temporary patch instead of a proper repair, which was corrected (that part was crazy)
Takeaway
While I appreciate that Zain covered the initial catalytic converter replacement, this vehicle has had serious undisclosed issues from the start. The presence of seal putty on the exhaust indicates problems were covered rather than disclosed. I have already invested over $750 into immediate repair just to make the car safe and reliable, and a turbo replacement is still required in the near future.
Buyer Beware: Be cautious when purchasing from this dealership. The car may look fine on the lot, but my experience shows that major issues were hidden and passed along to the buyer. I understand that I purchased an older, used vehicle — but to encounter this many serious problems within hours/days of purchase is a huge red flag.

I drove over an hour to look into getting an 07 Pontiac Grand Prix today. Didn’t make an appointment or anything just walked in. Zain helped me through the whole process from getting the vehicle ready for a test drive and going over any minor issues the vehicle has (rear window regulators & rear tires) I had issues on my end getting the payment to go through and had to run back to my home town to get cash. Zain stayed an extra 30 minutes to finalize the sale and get me situated into my new ride. Zain thank you so much you’re were very helpful, nice, & trustworthy. You made my experience fast & smooth!
