Kind of sad they are becoming a credit union and will not be locally owned.

They have been great. I'd complain but there's nothing to complain about.

I worked with Chris out of the Rockford office to get my small business’s Paycheck Protection Program application submitted after getting the runaround from my current lender. He made time to work through all my questions and concerns and got our application submitted to the SBA and approved same day. Don’t waste your time with the big banks for the PPP. Community banks like Midwest Community Bank are where it’s at. Thanks Chris!

Be careful of the St. Charles, IL, location. My experience with this lender was incredibly frustrating, very expensive and did not yield results. For their part, due to either incompetence and/or ignorance, they were unable to bring my mortgage refinance application to a close. After a protracted application process lasting 3 months, they rejected it on the basis of a lack of information that I had in fact, submitted 6 weeks earlier. Through the duration they modified the original terms and conditions, claiming their lack of awareness of a Fannie-Freddie clause, handed-off of my file to another originator after they discovered their error(s), made duplicate requests for documentation that I had already submitted, and mailed updated loan estimate documentation that contained outdated terms and conditions information. When they raised an issue, I immediately, with the assistance of my attorney, responded with the requested documents for their review only to have them refuse acceptance of the document as a solution and change direction as to what they needed. When they made additional requests for information, I responded in kind. I felt like they were slow-rolling the application process as close to the interest rate lock deadline as they could. As the deadline approached and I offered to have my attorney speak directly with their underwriter in order to close any remaining issues, they declined the invitation. NOTE: I was able to connect with another small community bank in the area and they closed on my loan in less than 30 days from the date that Midwest Community Bank rejected my application.

I've been banking at Midwest bank for the past twenty five years and I've always had a pleasurable experience every time I've been there. All of the employees are truly friendly and treat you like family. I would definitely recommend banking here if you are looking for a bank where you are treated like family. P.S. and a special thank you to Lisa for all of your help every time I call!

The people who work there and that you have to communicate with on the phone with are great. They don't go to their jobs with attitudes like a lot of people do, they always have a smile for you! And they actually seem to know what they are doing at their jobs!
