I've been a volunteer for 4 years and have enjoyed my experience working with the children and families. There is so much I've learned that has helped me understand and appreciate the process and how the system works for kids. If you're looking for a worthwhile cause where you can see results, I'd recommend exploring CASA.

CASA marked me as deceased even though I’m clearly alive. They’ve NEVER tried to contact me, if I try to contact they tell me im not privileged to see any paperwork. From what I’ve researched My child was awarded to an elderly couple whom locks him in the basement unless he’s going to school. They won’t even respond to the review so you know they did wrong!

I’m an advocate volunteer for Casa Kane County. Casa is a wonderful organization that puts kids first! Kids in foster care have a voice when they have an advocate. We make sure their needs are being met. That might include making sure medical and educationalneeds are being met and making sure the foster home is safe and has what the child needs. It can include making sure the biological parents are participating in their court ordered services. It’s a rewarding volunteer gig!! You know you’re making a difference. ❤️
