I have been banking with First American for a long time. They are very friendly at the Geneva branch and on the phone; however, that doesn't always equate to good customer service. For the first time in my life, my checking account was depleted and over-drawn. This is not how I roll. I have been trying to transfer funds from my other bank and I keep hearing..."there is nothing I can do"..."it is an auto-mated process"..."it takes five days to transfer funds"...bla, bla, blah! In this day and age with Zelle and Venmo, it shouldn't be this hard to transfer funds and resolve this issue. The money was sent ACH two days ago and First American is telling me they still don't SEE the funds! But the worst part of all this...she tried to solicit me on re-financing my mortgage with First American. This is not customer service. I will be closing my account.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH FIRST AMERICAN BANK! THEY AREUN-AMERICAN! THEY MISLEAD YOU TO THINKING YOU WILL RECEIVE PERSONAL ATTENTION. I HAD SBA SEND ME A BUSINESS LOAN IN MY BUSINESS NAME. AFTER MAKING ME JUMP THRU HOOPS PROVING I WAS SYNONYMOUS WITH MY BUSINESS NAME USING MY TAX RETURN, THEY STILL SAID THEY WERE SEND ING THE FUNDS BACK AND HAVE YET TO SEND THEM! THIS IS COSTING MY BUSINESS SO MUCH UNNECESSARY STRESS AND HINDERING PRODUCTIVITY! IN A PANDEMIC WHEN THE GOVERNMENT IS TRYING TO HELP SMALL BUSINESSES…FFIRST AMERICAN HAS INTERFERED AND PLAYED “GOD” WITH MY FUNDS!! THEY ARE THE WORST!

I am new to First American, but everyone I have had contact with, whether in person or via email has been very friendly and helpful, especially the folks at the Geneva IL location. It's a pleasant surprise compared to my primary bank. Looking forward to a great banking relationship.

This is a classic if I could give it zero stars I would. Since there is no corporate posting this will have to be posted on all the individual banking areas. Had a charge that did not belong on my account. Called customer service, and let me say the one thing they do not provide is service, to try to get some help. Basically got absolutely nothing, was told it could take up to two months I had three different forms to fill out and a bunch of hoops to jump through. I think it would've been easier if they would've just told me to go screw myself and hung up the phone. I have been banking with them for over 30 years now, this is the first time I can recall having any kind of dispute on my debit card and unfortunately I realized at that point I was on my own. I would definitely recommend using a more reputable bank who supports their customers when they have an issue. I'm just glad it was not a large sum of money that would've been tied up for two months.

We have been First American Bank customers for over 20 years and we have enjoyed excellent service. The bank staff is very friendly and we are always greeted personally when we visit. We are now living in Florida permanently and miss the banking relationship we had in Geneva, IL.

Terrible customer service. They do not have a 24/7 customer service number. My account is frozen for whatever reason and there is nobody availble to help me until Tuesday and today is Saturday. Switching banks on Tuesday.
