The issue I had wasn’t with the products it was the employee. I’ve never had any issues til now. The older lady named Angie gave me issues with the products I bought and berated me and was saying she didn’t want to bag my items because she had arthritis. I told her I would gladly bag my own items if that was an issue. She told me no and continued to say along the lines of “so you’re not gonna feel sorry for me?” I kept quiet and ignored her. As we were finishing up grabbing the rest of my items and paid she was also talking nasty to another employee saying she couldn’t finish her work because she never got relieved. I was very annoyed on how I was treated.

The Gilman store is outstanding !!! Great layout, staff is always friendly and helpful, new items come in often so that keeps it interesting. Good deals are to be found here !!! I like going to this store !!! The manager is awesome and the employees are great !!! Keep up the great work !!!

DO NOT have your FedEx packages delivered to the Gilman IL Dollar General Store. They have no system in place to track incoming packages and they don't even ask for ID for pickup!! Somebody got my lamps but it wasn't me. :(

The store is closed more then it's open.
Have gone there every day in the last 2 weeks and the store was only open 2 of them days.
Sad part this the place to shop in our town
Close altogether so something else can be put there that will be open
Or hire someone that knows what it means to run a business

For the past 3 weeks I have tried to go to this location and every time they have been closed, before 2pm. It is very irritating and suspicious. Every time I have gone and they are open there is multiple staff members. I have also accidentally bought food that was spoiled/expired on multiple occasions. Most of the workers are nice but I am very confused of how/why they are able to/getting away with being closed way before their posted hours. They don’t even put up a professional sign they write it on a piece of paper. Please fix the issues !!

This store is horribly disgusting inside. Nothing's ever put away. Most of the help is very rude. They are closed more than they are open. Pretty sad when you got a call to find out if they're open. I was told they have too much Overstock and that's why they are closed well if that's the case don't accept the Overstock send it back and open the store to sell the stock that is left in the store. That is the worst cap store I've ever seen it any of the Dollar Generals. I now travel to go to Clifton. And those pictures that are posted for the Dollar General in Gilman are not the pictures from inside at that Dollar General the pictures that are showing is a very clean store and I've never seen it look like that.

Came this morning at 10:30 a.m. with my two toddlers and didn't notice the paper closed sign on the door as I was trying to hustle my little girls inside. Poor customer service. A lady inside was snotty and rude and yelled at me WE ARE CLOSED! I hope you learn to be a little nicer
